Hey, my name is Jesse. I'm young, attractive, educated, employed, happy, and a decent human being. You should be, too.

I'm a generally good person. I am intelligent and creative. I like making people happy. I have high standards and I know what I'm looking for. I believe in balance in all things, in the power of words, and in the goodness of humanity. I am an atheist. I like reading and writing. I have eight tattoos.

I am looking for the following qualities in a potential lover: financially stable, emotionally secure, physically and verbally affectionate, intelligent and creative, possessing an open mind and the ability to hold a conversation, and many other things. Of the utmost importance is that initial attraction. I usually know in the first three minutes of meeting someone if there is potential (at least on my end of things) for a relationship. I am looking to build a relationship, starting at the dating level and, if that goes well, progressing to long-term and lifetime.

Turn offs: Body odor/bad breath, stupidity/boringness, financial instability, bad grammar, talking about wanting to get with someone else.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

I'm a teacher. I teach high school English. I want to go back to school and get my masters... right now I'm thinking masters in English Ed. But first I'm going to try to get my national board certification. Then... who knows what the future holds?

I have a new part-time job, too. I am training to be an instructor at the local Sylvan Learning Center. That's on top of my other part-time job at the YMCA. Don't know if I'll keep going with both for much longer though. The last thing I need is to get burned out!

I'm really good at Propose an edit

I'm good at bringing out the best in people, at seeing the positive in most situations, at solving problems and getting organized, and at writing long but grammatically correct sentences. I like to draw and write, although I'm not sure I'm "really good" at either one.

a) I love reading. That's why I'm an English teacher. I like a wide variety of books, but I have a few all time favorites, including (but not limited to) The Dice Man by Luke Rhinehart, Anansi Boys and Stardust by Neil Gaiman, The Town That Forgot How to Breathe by Kenneth J. Harvey, and The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. Currently Reading: Son of a Witch by Gregory Maguire and The Fallen by T. Jefferson Parker.

b) I enjoy movies in general. I don't know that I have any particular "favorites" at the moment but in general I enjoy a wide variety of genres--comedy, horror, musical, martial arts, and suspense. I guess my all-time favorite is RENT.

c) I like a variety of music, and I love concerts! My most recent concert was Maroon 5 and Counting Crows. I'd really like to go to Rock Band Live in Atlanta... haha lame I know, but Dashboard Confessional is going to be there! :-D

d) Pizza. Pizza. Pizza. Asian. Pizza. I can also cook and bake pretty well when I have time.

e) TV: Top Chef, Project Runway.
