My Self-Summary

Welcome to a guided tour of...me.

Starting in the family room, I'm 44, and a divorced father of a 12-year old boy. He is very important to me and is with me half the time.

In the living room you will find me reading (most of the time), watching movies, or surfing the web. Most of the TV I watch involves sports--I like baseball, football, and college basketball, mostly. I might be enjoying a beer, a glass of wine, or a Vernor's.

In the kitchen? I'm no gourmet, but I can cook and I am getting better. I like to eat almost any and every kind of food.

In the office? I work in public relations. Its a good job I like a lot (most of the time). Work is important to me, but I'm no workaholic. I work hard so I can enjoy life.

Moving along to the bedroom---you're going to have to wait to go in there. I forgot to make the bed.

Looking out the windows--what do we find there? I love to be outdoors. I like to kayak or walk in a metro park, especially on a crisp Fall or Winter day. I just got a new bike, and I can't wait to start that up again, too. Its so important to my mental well being to be active--something I didn't realize for a long time. I'm no Olympic athlete...I'm mostly about low-impact activity that gets the blood flowing.

I also love to go out to eat, and movies and theater. I can eat in almost any restaurant, everything from sushi to a good burger, from wine to beer. And I'd love to travel more in the future. New places and new sights are so important.

What's hidden in the basement? Hmmm. Its actually pretty clean right now. There's a minimum of baggage and stuff from previous lives down there. What's there is mostly the good stuff I want to keep.

Wherever you go on this tour, you'll find laughter. I love to make people laugh as much as I love to laugh. I'm easygoing and relaxed.

Am I planning to remodel? Not completely. But, an addition, some new furniture, sure! New experiences, new activities, new ideas...I think I'm ready for them all. Maybe that's where you come in.

The first things people usually notice about me

My wild curly hair and my sense of humor. Yes that hair is natural! Would someone pay for it to look like that?

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I like almost all books, from John Sandford to David McCullough. I read history, biography, and some fiction. Among my favorites are The Tipping Point, Alice Let's Eat, Run of His Life, Civil Action, and Catch-22.

I like smart, funny movies best. Second, I like funny movies. Sideways and Fargo are two of my favorites.

Food. I like almost all foods. If I had one day to live, it would come down to a Ferber Experience at Zingerman's, sushi, or a burger from Sidetrack.

I like music of many kinds, but don't listen to any kind too much. I like to listen to Doug-FM. Last concert I went to was Bruce Springsteen.
