My self-summary
I recently moved out of the city. Got this great new living situation in a beautiful area. Trying to meet friends and maybe date. I cook professionally as a chef instructor and I'm working on a long term idea having to do with private cooking. Aside from food... art, music, and nature have been a major part of my life... Or what has fufilled my life anyway.
I try to live my life in a conscientious manor. Noticing the effect we have on our surroundings is something of a priority to me.
Often, I look around and wonder why people do what they do. And it's not a good feeling. But that doesn't get me down cause there's so much to be thankful for.

My own tastes and interests place me out on the fringe. I'm generally turned off by what the masses are into. For example music, I can't stand most radio stations and the repeat playing of the same junk. I stick with college stations and NPR. Another example is in travel... I'd really prefer to avoid all the touristy stuff and do my own thing.

At the same time, I find I can easily tap into the energy of others around me. I saw the pan out especially in my work in restaurants. The more on-board and excited the team was... the more energized I'd feel with my cooking. Another example: Recently, I went out a group of my brothers friends. We went to a club at the beach and had a blast! It was 5 of us and we owned the dance floor and even got a dance move spreading about. It wasn't music I liked, it wasn't a scene I'm about, but because we as a group were on fire... it was a great time. Collaboration.
What I’m doing with my life
Having fun, building something sustainable. I like jumping around to different projects, some small ambitions, some big. Finding the right space to see ideas grow is sometimes the trickiest part. Trying to grow moss terrariums and I got this new workshop that I'm real excited about.

Was once part of a studio group that was very meaningful to me. The people involved became my best friends and the experience has set a standard for me in regards to what matters in creativity and life. We had a unique style of oil painting and we made lot's of crazy music in our studio space. I feel extremely grateful for those years.

Considering buying a car now that I live in the suburbs. But not really happy about that. I loved not having a car when I lived in Philly. I'm about my bikes; but that's tricky out here.

I am not after fame and/or fortune. To be honest, I really don't get the appeal. So much shallow fake shit everwhere, why?

I really dig farmers markets. Need to learn to sail.

I wish I could keep chickens, but it's against the rules. Boo!
I’m really good at
Cooking, climbing trees, dog interaction, riding bikes, sleeping.
working in a garden and soon....sailing.
The first things people usually notice about me
You should meet my friends and ask them. My friends are really good people.

Most common thing after someone learns my age is that I look younger.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Earth From Above, Dr. Tatiana's Sex advice to All Creation (it's a biology book), all of Michael Pollan's books, all of Andy Goldsworthy books, Sedaris, Edward O. Wilson, Mantak Chia
Movies: Kubrick, Coen Bro.s, Lynch, Herzog, Jarmusch, Gilliam, Wong Kar Wai, HBO shows, sooo many others!
Music: lot's... but almost nothing I hear on the radio (unless it's a college station or NPR,
King Crimson, Modest Mouse, Bonobo, Arling and Cameron, David Bowie, Massive Attack, Parlov Stellar, Radiohead, Bjork, Brian Eno, Feist, Mono, RJD2, Flux Pavillion, Steve Lehman, Tory Amos, Medeski Martin and Wood, Ratatat, Robert Fripp, Trans Am.
Music is a big deal for me, I play music from time to time. It is a hugely rewarding thing to do. Drums, guitar, bass guitar, keys...I play anything and not well, just for fun.

My new thing which I love love love, is plugging in band/musicians names that I don't know which are listed on some of you girls' profiles into pandora. You can try these: Ratatat, Steve Lehman, Bonobo, Arling and Cameron (all crazy stuff)

Food: I have a sweet tooth and I try to be a locavore when ever possible. I also cook most of my food instead of eating out. After working in restaurants for 16 years (and I mean good restaurants too), I am to aware of how foul it really is.
The six things I could never do without
fresh food, good shoes, humor, fire, community, the outdoors.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Food, pleasure, cause and effect, weather, my health and fitness, dreams, work, girls, friends and family, how to influence myself to do better, and how there are way too many of us and our plastic bags. I heard a story about a live Beluga whale was transported and they needed a toxic waste permit cause it was so full of our crap that litters the ocean.

Today, I was admiring salamanders. They are calm, beautiful, harmless, and they survive around where I live cause we don't use lawn chemicals.
On a typical Friday night I am
My weeks change all the time. Any night can be Friday night. And I'm probably cooking something if I'm not out with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I haven't really grown up yet. It is likely I never will.
