My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm curious, sarcastic, talkative, and spontaneous. I love making fun of myself and others. I'm fascinated by nerdy things--especially anything science-related.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
After graduating from Brown, I moved to Manhattan to play online poker professionally. I did that until about three years ago, when I realized that I wanted to do something more challenging and fulfilling.

So, I decided to forego the riches of online poker, and I've now finished my third year in the PhD program in computer science at NYU, which I love.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Knowing a surprising amount about a wide range of nerdy things.

Making ice cream. (In fact, I own three ice cream makers. Sometimes you have to make a lot of ice cream in a pinch.)

Giving life advice.

Picking restaurants.

Making people laugh.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm probably talking about something enthusiastically.

The opening sequence in Up is the best thing ever. I'm a big fan of everything by Quentin Tarantino (though I still haven't seen Death Proof). I also love The Big Lebowski, Silence of the Lambs, Science of Sleep, and Oldboy.

Recently listened to list includes The Decemberists, Broken Social Scene, Sufjan Stevens, Radiohead, The New Pornographers, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Tallest Man on Earth, Sigur Ros, Neutral Milk Hotel, Beck, and Jimi Hendrix.

For fiction, I love everything I've read by Kurt Vonnegut (except Slaughterhouse-5) and J.D. Salinger. Some others: Catch-22, Siddhartha, and Spring and All. I also like nerdy non-fiction. Favorites include Guns, Germs, and Steal, The Selfish Gene, The Information, etc.

TV: Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Futurama, Archer, sometimes trashy reality TV.

I love good food. It's hard for me to imagine leaving NY because of the awesome variety of great restaurants.

Also, xkcd. If you like xkcd, then we probably will get along.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
The internet
Great food
Hmm… not at six yet. I'm low maintenance. Just buy me some good food, sit me at my computer, and let me make frequent sarcastic comments, and I'm good to go.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Lots of different things. I'm an avid Wikipedia reader, Google searcher, and just generally a question asker.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out to dinner, drinking, singing karaoke, at a friend's house, doing something goofy and fun, babysitting my four-month-old nephew, or (let's be honest) at home in my PJs.
