**I am not currently paying for a subscription, so you'll have to message me or I won't know who you are**
I moved to New Orleans for grad school and I love the city! However, the only people I know are in my program at school and I am not one to date coworkers. OKC makes me feel pretty awkward and I'm a total nerd, so that's saying something.
I volunteer on the weekends (when I'm not studying) and I like to run, read, and travel when I get the chance. I'm really looking forward to exploring more of the city.
I am really into science, but also fashion, wildlife, and nature. I'm a member of Defenders of Wildlife and the World Wildlife Federation. I love my dog and often feel guilty that I can't spend all of my time with him. We enjoy exploring the neighborhood together and finding cool hidden parks. I also enjoy running and love to participate in local races and running groups and I do yoga a couple times a week at local studios. I love Groupon because it gives me a chance to try new and random activities that I probably wouldn't otherwise (and on the cheap). I'm very introverted and need a lot of alone time, but I am very close with my family and I value and appreciate my friends more than anything. I'm pragmatic and an honest and genuine person who is looking for someone who is as well.
My motto is "keep it classy", which I make a concerted effort to maintain. However, I tend to curse like a sailor. I'm also extremely sarcastic. What can you do? I talk a lot and fidget when I get nervous. Combined with the swearing, this can get pretty interesting. As a scientist, I'm type A and like to plan, but am very understanding about circumstances. As I've gotten older and more self-aware I've learned that you can't ask for something you aren't willing to give in return and communication is the key to any relationship.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm currently in grad school for my PhD in Biomedical Sciences. I love what I do, although it can often be very stressful.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
planning and organization. Inefficiency is my pet-peeve.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm very sociable and friendly, and am usually up to try new things. I laugh easily and am very sarcastic (whether good or bad, it's true). I must have one of those faces because people always want to talk to me and tell me random things, which I typically find entertaining.

I like to read, make lists, binge watch netflix, bake overly complicated but delicious desserts, go for a run or to a yoga class, walk my dog in City Park or along the lakefront, try new restaurants, enjoy live music. I love good food, good wine, and good conversation.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My sister, my dog, my friends, my iphone, my laptop, my kindle, my running shoes

Wait, that's 7. And I've got more...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I am introverted, but I'm not shy and I appreciate a night out. I enjoy laid back lounges for a killer martini or a good wine bar better than crowded crazy bars, but I'm always up for a good time and I enjoy chats with like-minded individuals.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm willing to skip a meal (or a few) for a pair of beautiful shoes.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
I read messages, but don't always respond right away. Sorry about that! If you don't mind maybe waiting a bit, fire away. I'm always curious what makes people visit a profile and decide one way or the other.
However, I will NOT respond to:
"I can come over", "I'm in town for the weekend...", "Your pictures turn me on", and other super creepy/skeevy messages of that nature. I am not on here for sex. If that's what I wanted I'd just go to a bar or join Tinder. That is not who I am and I certainly hope my profile does not give that impression. Please do not message me for that purpose.
