My self-summary Propose an edit

I'm a (very) recent college graduate and now work full time for the interwebz. I am somewhat of a polyglot, thanks to an avid interest in the different sounds people are capable of making.

I like camping, hikes and walks (not sure if they can be conflated into one thing), bike rides, playing cards and other fun games, reading...blah blah blah.

I'm also a pretty serious atheist, and I love to talk/think/dream about evolution. That's something that you should probably be able to handle if you'd like to get to know me. I could see myself being happy in a romantic relationship with Richard Dawkins, if only for his bedtime conversations about why moths fly into artificial light sources.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

I'm working. I'm meditating. I'm roller skating. (Sometimes those last two go together). I'm taking a Japanese class. I'm reading lots of neat books. As far as the long-term future goes, though, I'm letting things run their course.

I'm really good at Propose an edit

Languages (got third place in a Chinese speech contest). Not getting lost. Drawing things (sometimes). Finishing my meals.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit

That I'm tall (although not that much above average, I don't think). Unfortunately it's not one of my most profound characteristics. At least it might help out when walking around dodgy neighborhoods at night.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit

Books: I love Richard Dawkins, and so far have read and loved "The God Delusion" and I am currently reading "The Selfish Gene". I plan to read "The Blind Watchmaker" next. It's the kind of stuff that makes me drool. I have recently discovered the works of Osho. I'm a fan of Star Wars novels and am starting to get into the Tolkien titles after years of resistance thereto. I'm also enamored with The Little Prince.

Movies: Christopher Guest films, Star Wars, anything light-hearted...it's always hard to think of specific titles.

Music: Vive la Fête, Ladytron, CSS, Fischerspooner, The Knife, LCD Soundsystem, The Sounds and mostly other electronic groups like these. I like non-electronic stuff too. For a more accurate reflection of my musical tastes, check out my last.fm profile.

Food: In descending order of preference: Mexican, Thai, Indian, then it gets less easy to rank. Basically, spicy stuff.

Hard to say. The only common thread is that I'm usually with friends or my family. From there it can go many different directions: playing cards, going out to dinner and/or a bar, going roller skating, going to Tahoe if it's winter-time, watching a movie...the typical Friday night stuff.
