I am sincere, adventerous, and spontaneous.
My Self-Summary
The nickle tour... for as much as I can write about self and not
feel odd. I work in health care, and recently returned home from
working in the Middle East. I've spent the last three years of my
life traveling, and I feel its help defined me as a person and
greatly expanded my views of my self and the world. I think most
people take things too seriously, and love a good laugh. I'm driven
in what I do, and am in the final stages of wrapping up my Master's
degree in Emergency Management. I have my own place in Fairfax, and
work in the area when I can't find a good excuse to escape on an
adventure.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm constantly trying to improve myself. Not because I don't think
I'm good enough, but feel that I can always improve. After I finish
my masters, I'm going to start my Nursing Degree... and after
that... well, I kinda found my self browsing colleges for PHD
programs... I want to be able to travel when ever I want, but I
don't want to be rich, just well to do to not worry about money.
But at the same time, its a goal of mine to find someone, and live
the 'normal' life for a good long while.
I’m really good at
A good friend tells me I'm a good mentor, and coach. Apparently I'm
good at laying out the options, and helping people find their
motivation. It meant a lot to hear that. I try very hard to be a
leader. But, what I'm not is an overly type A person, or
bossy.
Other than that, I think I'm a pretty dam good cook, and love to
make all sorts of things; I'm not health nut, but I really watch
what I eat, and love to find new ways to make old recipes better
for me to eat.
The first things people usually notice about me
People tell me I don't smile enough... I tell that it doesn't mean
I'm not happy, I guess I'm just not smiley?
I also have half sleeve tattoos, that people seem to always want to
see; especially little old ladies...
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Book: I like to pick out random biographies of people I've never
heard of, or try to find some other book I've never read.
Movies: I'm a sucker for war movies, I won't lie. I'm a guy, after
all. I also spend a lot of time watching what ever comes on
Sundance or IFC, 'artsy' types of films are something I enjoy. TV
wise, I watch No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain, I bumped into
him once out of the US. He bought me a beer.
Music: I'm big into Punk/Ska/ Rockabilly/Pyschobilly. I guess rock
wise, the 90's are still what I love. I've also got some hip hop on
my Ipod, and a soft spot for Johnny Cash.
Food: I love ethnic food, Thai and Indian round out my top too.
The six things I could never do without
1. Ipod (lame I know, but I love my music)
2. A good cup of tea, or mate.
3. All the knowledge my mentors have given me over the years.
4. A good curry.
5. My best buddies
6. My two cats, they remind myself to not take things too
seriously.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
If I'm doing the right thing, with my life and at the moment, like
if a complete stranger were to meet me for the first time, would I
come off as the person I want myself to be.
Did the cats open, and then somehow shut, themselves in the fridge,
yet again.
On a typical Friday night I am
I'm not too much of a party animal... mostly I'm relaxing at home,
or some place quiet with friends, or at work. Yes, I work nights,
and on the weekends, as I'm a medic. You've been warned.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
That I'm an open book, and will answer just about any question,
anyone asks.
You should message me if
You've have direction in your life, drive, and like to go after
something you want. I like strong women.
But pretty much anyone, I have no real 'type'.
