I was raised all over the Midwest and in California. I've worked in retailing, communications, advertising, and the entertainment industry; all successfully.

I'm multi-ethnic and someone with a warm intensity. Nevertheless, I'm animated in the way I communicate and am always up for silliness and hi-jinx. The Russian term "dushevnost" describes me pretty-well: "Soulful and deeply emotive, but also warm, open, gregarious and passionate."

A bit of free association...I'm a big believer in self-determination. I'll bet on my own independent choices before I rely upon astrology, tarot, or palmistry to chart my course. Having said that, all three are intriguing and insightful in their own way.

I've never found age to be a reliable marker of anything; be it maturity or wisdom. So who I contact is based first and foremost on their profile. And those that contact me always receive an answer; whether it feels like a match or not. Replying to all emails is one way I live my values of mutual respect and consideration.

Final thought: I believe a great way to love someone is to make them laugh, smile, or think. And a great way to be loved is to simply open your heart.

I'm learning. Life has a lot to teach and sometimes I need the same lesson more than once. Central to my journey here is getting to the core: of who I am, what I believe, and what is truest about any given situation.

-My favorite books are those in the self-help category, although I don't believe that reading them is innately helpful. It is my actual application of wisdom - whether from a book or otherwise - that ultimately creates change.
-Some favorite movies are "Vanilla Sky", "Elegy", "Jo-Jo Dancer, Your Life Is Calling", "Jacob's Ladder", "The 9th Configuration", "Contact", and "Black". I love the stand-up comedy/social commentary of Chris Rock. I admire and delight in the spontaneity and brilliance of Robin Williams on stage.
-A favorite newer musical artist is Dragonette. One of my favorite songs is "I Wasn't Born Yesterday" (Daryl Hall/"Three Hearts In The Happy Ending Machine") The lyrics will tell you a great deal about me.
-When it comes to food, my favorite is a home-cooked meal prepared with love.

1) Creativity: Whether it's putting together an effective life strategy, writing a poem, or trouble-shooting a computer glitch, creativity has many useful applications. It is the original multi-purpose tool.

2) Music: A great friend when celebrating, consolation when sad, and just the thing to make my 3 year old nephew smile.

3) Compassion: It is because of compassion in this world that I survive and thrive.

4) Sleep: I like to sleep long and hard. It's the perfect way to check-out from life for a little while.

5) Touch: Without it, cupping someone's face in your hands, kissing their lips, and holding them in your arms is impossible. There's a reason why babies who aren't held regularly are also less healthy.
