I'm kind, giving, friendly and helpful, but I'm also rather selective. I'd much rather be doing anything outdoors or at home as opposed to being in a sports bar or a loud club or an Ikea - sensory overload.

I prefer spontaneity and making it up as we go to a set of rigid "must do" items that end up being a task. Trips are always interesting that way. You're free to interpret "interesting" as you wish.

I have a 22 year old who just graduated from UW and a 10 year old entering 4th grade. They are spectacular...most of the time.

I love dogs. Cats are taken on a case-by-case basis. Large reptiles are generally a no go unless its a Galapagos tortoise.

I love the outdoors, nature, birds, animals, films, music, art, food, comfortable shoes, the ocean and the sound of rain on my roof.

I believe in monogamy, communication, sharing, patience, coffee, silence, beautiful eyes, fresh, organic, vegetarian, written words, evolution, revolution, a painted canvas and sunscreen.

We're all dreamers.

Unless its something embarrassing, like zipper issues, stains, toothpaste, pullovers inside out, people mostly comment on my height. I'm not that tall, it's just the regal stature, I suppose. ;p

Books- Cormac, Faulkner, F. Scott, Dostoyevsky, Hemingway, Greene, Tolstoy - classics, but I also enjoy a plethora of new writers. Time will tell.

Films - my favorite over the past few years was Tree of Life. Love it, but Mallick is a favorite with everything he does. Herzog, Coppola, both Andersons, Sayles, Renoir, Bresson, Altman, Bergman, Kubrick, the Coens...it just goes on and on, but there are so many things I like.

TV - Breaking Bad, GoT, nerdy science stuff.

Food! I love food - whole food, good food, sexy food - spicy, soul, sugar sweet - a bite of this and a taste of that. Wish I were a better cook.

Music - Wilco (dad rock), Radiohead, REM, Dylan, pre-90 Springsteen, Ray Wylie Hubbard, the Gourds, Alejandro Escovedo, the Breeders, the Pixies, the Replacements...too many others to mention, but you get the idea - guitars!

It's always surprising the things you can live without that wouldn't have seemed possible at one time. My kids, friends, beauty, humor, fresh air and a warm place to sleep all seem like necessities.

World peace and universal brotherhood of all mankind...who am i kidding, actually it's probably sex, sports or food.

(Don't they say that, on average, men think of sex every 7 seconds? I think I read that somewhere. Anyway, I don't believe it's anywhere near every 7 seconds...probably more like every 9 to 12 seconds.)

Plotting world domination or trying to get a stain out of something.

That I'm "willing" to admit? That certainly limits the damage.

I suppose it's the fact that, although I can be warm, witty and charming in social situations, I'm really more prone to being introverted - quiety making notes and gentle asides.
