Ever since I worked in a video-store in high-school, I've been a movie dork. I love 70s American New Wave (Altman, Scorsese, Raefelson, Coppola) and 90s independents (Von Trier, Soderbergh, Egoyan). I think David Lynch and the Coens are amazing and will watch anything with Mickey Rourke, especially his 80s work.

But I can't stand Wes Anderson and his solipsism. Just saying.

By the same token, Pauline Kael is my favorite writer. It's simultaneously humbling and infuriating that someone can have such a mastery of her craft and that I'll never begin to approach that level.

TV is Twin Peaks, Black Mirror, and Freaks and Geeks. Especially Black Mirror. Holy shit, that shit is the shit.

Music: Charlift, Cocteau Twins, Mike Patton, Sigur Ros, Portishead, Radiohead, anything ending with 'head', Andrew WK, Mogwai, Sugar Plant, PRE, Totally Radd!!!, Hayden, Animal Collective, Al Martino
