My self-summary
A grad student finishing up my last two semesters at IU.

When I meet new people, I enjoy perusing their bookshelf to see what inspires their world. I'm big on intellectual diversity and getting new perspectives on things. Hoping this site will offer me a lot of opportunities to do that.
What I’m doing with my life
Studying Speech-Language Pathology at Indiana University.
I’m really good at
Dancing. I used to do a lot of concert dance stuff (tap/jazz/ballet/modern). Now, I just like going out and having a good time.

Singing. Musical theater has been a great outlet for me. On the other hand, it's pretty time consuming and graduate school *is* life.

Learning languages. I'm working on Portuguese right now. It's like Russian-sounding Spanish!
The first things people usually notice about me
My smile seems to get a lot of compliments.
Also, once I become a regular at any convenience store, I become known as the "happy guy" (I'm pretty damn upbeat).
The six things I could never do without
My iPod touch (especially the WorkFlowy and AwesomeNote apps)
My crockpot
Excel spreadsheets
Seltzer water
I spend a lot of time thinking about
moral and intellectual questions. What's the right balance between individualism and collectivism, or structure and agency, or self-interest and responsibility? At this point, I've developed a lifetime's-long reading-list that'll hopefully help me sort it all out in the end.
On a typical Friday night I am
Socializing in some way--board games, going to a bar or a club, watching a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
When I was a little kid, I broke down crying in a confessional. Everybody else in my grade in CCD heard. (Those things should really be built with sound absorption in mind. I'm just saying.)
You should message me if
you have something to share based on what you've seen/read here. A message that integrates my profile info is going to be better received. A "What's up?" could work too, it's just less likely.
