I am undead, hungry for brains, and living a great life.

My Self-Summary

Well, on the whole, I hate writing self-summaries. So here's what my roommate said about me.

'You're my big homo friend.'

There you have it. I'm a big homo friend.

Well, I'D say I'm a nice, fun-loving guy who's willing to try nearly anything once. Especially octopus. (I really just wanted to see if anyone else highlighted the word octopus.) I'm sarcastic as hell and try incredibly hard to see the good in the world, even when it seems that Bush completely frugged it up. When other people are constantly pitying themselves, it weighs me down and I'd much rather just live and laugh and joke and drink. I just graduated from college and I'm starting out in the 'real' real world.

I've become quite actively involved in politics, especially after the election results of '08. I campaigned hard for Obama, got the word out about the injustice of Prop 8, and engaged in many a political discussion with my UBER-Republican friends and family. Did I mention I was born and raised in South Dakota?

I'm a big cinephile, especially watching crappy movies that no one else enjoys. One of the best things to do is to do our own 'Mystery Science Theatre 3000' nights where we just watch any crappy-ass movie and mock it the whole way through. I recommend the 70's classic The Bed that Eats...People. I'm also quite passionate about a few tv shows to a pretty stalkerish, creepy degree. Lost theories are a favorite pasttime, as well as watching new and old episodes of 'Doctor Who' (David Tennant is a GOLDEN GOD).

I really don't know what else to say........hi...?

What I’m doing with my life

I just graduated last May with a BFA in Theatre and moved to Chicago in January to get started. I'm probably going to end up poor and homeless, but at least I'll be pursuing my passion! I do, however, see a bright and shiny future in which I can afford my monthly rent. That'll be the life.

Currently, I'm unemployed and more than half way through The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Job hunting is fun...but not as fun as saving Hyrule, bitches.

I’m really good at

I'd like to think I'm good at theater: acting, directing, writing. I directed Dog Sees God at my college BEFORE it was a show that EVERYONE seemed to be doing...I'm proud of that.

I also kinda enjoy video games quite a bit, if you couldn't already tell.

I'm good at going out and having fun...when I have the cash to do so.

The first things people usually notice about me

I'd like to say my beautiful and shining personality. But, well, honestly...it's probably the gap in my teeth. BUT, I love the gap in my teeth. So I suppose I'm cool with it.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Get ready, friends. This is the one area where you're really gonna get to know me.

Books - The Lord of the Flies, Frankenstein, 1984, Animal Farm, The Road, The Things They Carried, and, yes, Harry Potter. I read quite often, but I have a short list of favorites because I have to really feel the passion from the writer and get something out of it. Unfortunately, many books just haven't left lasting impact with me. These ones have! Any and all plays, especially those by Sam Beckett, Sam Shepard, and Sarah Kane.

Movies - Brokeback Mountain, Little Children, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Lord of the Rings, The Goonies, Donnie Darko, Juno, The Dark Knight, Little Miss Sunshine, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Pan's Labyrinth...I could keep going and going...like I said, I'm a bit of a cinephile! I like old movies, new movies, horrible movies; you name it, I'll watch it.

Music - Jack's Mannequin, Snow Patrol, Coldplay, Mat Kearney, Maroon 5. There are many musicians I like from many genres, but these five are the ones I could see myself becoming groupies for.

Food - I'm willing to try anything, but my favorite is Italian. I'm really a horrible cook. I'm embarassed to admit, but I actually ruined mac and cheese to the point that our fire alarm went off and my neighbors came over to check on the house. And it was the microwave stuff. Yes, I am that bad in the kitchen.

TV - The only shows I watch on a regular basis that are still on the air are Lost, The Office, and anything to do with ghost hunting (Ghost Hunters, Ghost Adventures, World's Most Haunted). If nothing's on, I'll watch the History Channel or the Discovery Channel. I love TV on DVD though and have a bizarre fascination with Doctor Who and Arrested Development. I also have Queer as Folk, Family Guy, Buffy, and Angel, which I love, but not to a fanatic level like the other two.

Video Games - ALL Legend of Zelda games, especially Majora's Mask...but other games for the different Nintendo consoles:
NES - Super Mario 3, Mickey's Mousecapades, Anticipation!, Punch-Out, Duck Tales
SNES - Earthbound, Mario Paint, Final Fantasy III, Mario Kart, Mario RPG, The Lion King, Donkey Kong Country, Mega Man X, Illusion of Gaia, Secret of Mana, SimCity, Super Metroid*
N64 - GoldenEye, Banjo-Kazooie, DK 64, Mario 64, Super Smash Brothers, Paper Mario, Perfect Dark, Vigilante 8
Gamecube - Smash Brothers Melee, Animal Crossing, Eternal Darkness, Mario Kart: Double Dash, Mario Party 4, Pikmin 1 and 2, X-Men Legends
Wii - Mario Galaxy, Resident Evil 4, Smash Brothers Brawl, Fire Emblem, Lego Batman, Mario Kart Wii, Metroid Prime 3, WarioWare
I've got many other games, these are a few of my favorites, I've also got a DS, X-Box, and PS2...but I much prefer my Nintendo consoles! I love any game that I can play with friends! Especially Wii Sports and Rock Band.

*thanks to Seb for reminding me!

The six things I could never do without

air, Link, shelter, dogs, Obama, and David Tennant

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Love. I'm kind of a hopeless romantic. I think up little scenarios I'd like to try when I'm with someone who would appreciate it.

Also, fart jokes.

On a typical Friday night I am

Eating something. I tend to eat sometimes.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I once 'ran away from home' when my sister was babysitting me, just because she was being a real jerk. In reality, I hid in the backyard until she went off looking for me, snuck in the house, and hid until my parents got home. Just because I wanted to see her squirm.

I was an evil little four year old.

You should message me if

You, too, are interested in the deeper complexities of Mario.
