I read a lot, I'm a big music fan, and I love to play and watch sports (with or without beer). I try to balance my tendency towards intellectualism by watching terrible television and by playing outside. At one time I was a beer-pong legend, but my skills have started to atrophy.

I'm fun to be around. I'm really nice, pretty gregarious, and at least somewhat funny- at least people tend to laugh at things I say. I find people fascinating and I genuinely like most people. This means I have an interesting and diverse group of friends, some of whom are not even lawyers.

I've been in DC for about 10 years, but I'm really a California kid at heart. I get a little antsy if I don't see the sun for a while and I think the mountains on this coast are pretty lame.

I left a job at a large law firm because it was draining my life force, took time off, and now I have a job working in legal services. I'm learning a lot and I have weekends again. Hurray!

I'm really friendly and outgoing. I smile pretty much all the time. Also, despite being over the age of 12, I still have tons of freckles.

I tend to read pretty nerdy history books. The best one I've read recently is To End All Wars, which is about pacifists in Britain during WWI. In the past few months, I also read the new Malcolm X biography, a history of prohibition, and a travelogue about the Caucuses.

I love the Simpsons, Boardwalk Empire, Glee, and Sons of Anarchy. I also watch a lot of sports.

I listen mostly to hip hop, but again, usually on the nerdy side: Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Lupe, KRS, Nas, Brother Ali, Tupac, Immortal Technique etc. I also listen to a lot of 60s era folk.

I like pretty much all food.

I think about what I'm going to do when I win the lottery- the party I'll throw, the house I'll buy, and how I'll organize a movement to end the war on drugs.

I usually try to keep it pretty low-key on Fridays, so I can play basketball and study on Saturday morning. I'm a big fan of having dinner at home and watching a movie with a bottle of wine, but I often end up out at bars with friends.
