I am bonafied, pastuerized, and homogenized.
My Self-Summary
Just moved to Delaware after 5+ years in Ontario, Canada. I am
friendly, smart, funny. You know, all the good things people say
they are. I am also a bit goofy, and a bit of a nerd.
I am rather fanatical about music (in almost any form). I am a huge
baseball fan, and a hockey fan (I lived in Canada eh!). I like to
cook and to eat. I exercise most days because I feel bad when I do
not.
I am new to the area and just took a new job. I am still settling
back in. I would love to find someone to keep me company, maybe
show me around, and we could see what happens from there.
A friend once described me as someone who "knows a lot about what
they like, and really knows what they like". That is a pretty good
description of me.
What I’m doing with my life
Living it? Moving little bugs around. Trying to have some fun.
Looking for the answers to obscure questions that mostly only
interest me. Listening to music. Stuff.
I’m really good at
Lots of random things. Painting bees, throwing frisbees, listening
to music, watching baseball, I move small amounts of liquid well, I
am a pretty good cook, I am great at remembering irrelevant and
kinda dumb factoids...which means I would be pretty good at
Jeopardy, I suppose.
The first things people usually notice about me
I have absolutely completely and utterly no idea. Although, I can
often be pretty loud and boisterous, so maybe that. Maybe we should
meet and you can tell me.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
MUSIC: (the saint) John Coltrane, Wilco, Grant Green, Bruce
Springsteen, Lee Morgan, The Velvet Underground, Dylan, Talking
Heads, My Morning Jacket, ANYTHING soulful, A Tribe Called Quest,
Buck Owens, Loretta Lynn, the Del Mccoury Band, Kathleen Edwards,
Blue Rodeo and Neil Young (need to represent Canada), Uncle Tupelo,
Jayhawks, Gangstarr, Femi and Fela, Panda Bear, K'Naan, Sonic
Youth, Jens Lekman, Lykke Li, Gillian Welch, lately Beach House,
Damon and Naomi...Basically, if I hear something I like on the
radio, in a store or whatever, I will usually get completely
distracted. So, really, this is more of a list of things I have
been listening to, I am not sure I have a favorite, and my
listening changes almost hourly.
Movies: The Maltese Falcon, The Big Sleep, The Manchurian Candidate
(the original), Sabrina (only the original), The Freshman, The
Natural, Stranger than Fiction, Bull Durham, For the Love of the
Game...notice a theme? or two?
Books: Last Chance to See, Some Buried Cesar (actually most Rex
Stout), Lolita, Perfume, The Wind Up Bird Chronicle, In the Miso
Soup...actually most books by both Murakamis, Beak of the
Finch
Food: just about everything is cool...except melon, I do not like
melons...I mean not at all...what a terrible food or fruit or
whatever it is..yuck!
TV (cause why not): Corner Gas, Lost, House, Lots of sports, Big
Bang Theory, Top Chef
The six things I could never do without
Things I cannot do without, eh?
1)Some source of music
2)A way of contacting my friends and family is important...so
perhaps smoke signals or carrier pigeons
3)Something to read
I am kinda stuck at three. I suppose I can be pretty
minimalist.
4) I am pretty fond of having a computer, and that would actually
fill most of the first three items. So, obvious items excluded, I
might be ok with just a computer and an internet connection. or
radio and a phone. or radio and some stamps.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I over think most everything, except when I am not thinking at all.
So, it really depends on the moment.
On a typical Friday night I am
Depends on the Friday, the city, and the country! Give me some time
to settle in and I will let you know.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I have a slightly cauliflowered left ear?
You should message me if
If one of my answers has peaked your interest. If you are bored (or
not bored). If you feel like it.
