My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hello there, fellas. A little bit about myself:
I moved to Oakland a few years ago after living in San Francisco for 11 years. I'm trying to come to terms with being a commuter. Growing up in Minneapolis, I developed a fondness for lakes and have a goal to someday live on a body of water with a dock to fish off of, a canoe to paddle, and a bench to sit on and drink my tea while watching the sunrise/set. I love the urban life, but at some point would like to be able to grow a garden and hang my clothes on a clothesline to dry in the sun.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
By profession I am a social worker, working in public elementary schools. I'm interested in social science research and this fall I'm excited to start working on a research project to explore this interest further. I'm always trying to find ways to infuse the arts and creativity into my life.

I knit, play violin in a community orchestra (made up of mostly retirees), collect records, and listen to public radio while I cook/bake. I like teatime, going for walks, picanics, berrypicking, cabins, singing (mostly to myself), and overanalyzing the minutae of social interactions. I will never tire of reading, watching movies or talking about books and movies.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Observing and understanding behavior. I think I'm intelligent socially, emotionally, and musically. I am a critical thinker.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've always been told I have a nice smile. In fact the only sports trophy I ever won was for best sportsmanship on the 6th grade girls basketball team because the coach said I smiled a lot.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
a pet, stories, beeeautiful music, a good book, tea, trees
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Trying to have a beginners mind. How to have more music in my life.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Eating delicious foods and going to the picture show, reading a book and drinking tea under an afghan. I would like to see live music and comedy more often.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I snore, although I'm told it's a soft sexy snore. Also I’ve always been an embarrassingly bad speller so don’t think I’m dumb if there is a glaring spelling error in here.

You’re a gentleman, outdoorsman, woodworker, city planner, maverick politician, composer, journalist or a nerd who is knowledgeable in some obscure niche area. Or if you are none of those things, but would like to go out for tea, beers, and/or a walk with me.
