My self-summary
Professionally, I am an overworked but reasonably sane IT engineer for a mega-corporation. Personally, I'm an introspective individual, I believe that periodic re-invention of one's self is a healthy thing to do, and I tend to be all over the place in a lot of areas. I am highly intolerant of the kind of intolerance and narrow-mindedness that seems to run rampant these days. To summarize myself, I'm driven, liberal, impatient, moody, impulsive, vain, irreverent, pragmatic, weirdly spiritual, high-maintenance, an incurable romantic, and both my sense of humor and my mind are typically in the gutter. In other words, I'm a pain in the ass, but you still might like me.
What I’m doing with my life
Working a lot, cycling most days, back for my third time through college.
I’m really good at
Ummm I'm a really good cook and I love doing it and I'm a decent cyclist (road bike). I'm also well-spoken, a good writer, and have excellent taste across a number of areas.
The first things people usually notice about me
You tell me....
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books... Tom Wolfe is by far my favorite writer and I usually have several books going at once. Food-wise, I don't know if I love cooking or eating more. Indian and Thai are my current favorites. I've got far too many favorite movies to mention here. I like most genres, with the exception being slasher movies, which I can't stand and artsy-fartsy movies, which I don't get. TV... since the unfortunate advent of reality TV, which I find mindless and boring, it's not on a lot. Good stuff from the past were shows like Star Trek, Six Feet Under, and China Beach.
The six things I could never do without
Meaning, purpose, love, sex, good food, and bicycles.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Meaning, purpose, love, sex, good food, and bicycles.
On a typical Friday night I am
Sipping good cabernet, cooking something really good, and pondering the important things in life: meaning, purpose, love, sex, good food, and bicycles.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
En vino veritas...
You should message me if
You are married or otherwise attached (or not), understand that marriage isn't all it's cracked up to be, and are looking for more than what your current world offers. If you're looking for a distraction that could turn into a lot more than a distraction, you may have found it. (Pictures are not posted for discretion's sake but are available upon request.)
