I am Love, Truth, and Honor.

My Self-Summary

If you really want to know who I am, you can look at the personality test results. The result for The LONG Scientific Personality Test: INFP – the Healer. On the Enneagram Test: 2 – The Helper. I took the longer Enneagram on a different site (the short test on this site). My Enneagram test gave me a type 1 wing so they both say the same things about me.

About me and what I'm looking for: I like books, music, movies, hiking/camping, and the beach (the great outdoors). I’m looking for a long term relationship.

I read most the books in Terry Pratchett’s,”The Disc World.” In addition I also read fiction, history, science fiction, mystery, horror, and rarely fantasy. If I start the first book out of a series then it becomes very hard to not read the rest. You know how hard it is to not know how a story ends?

Mostly my type of music is Old English Rock, Classic Rock, Alternative Rock, Folk, Blues, Jazz, and Classical. The person I have seen in concerts the most is the Richard Thompson band. I like all kinds of music other than rap and new country. Most people in rap can't play an instrument and they don't have any real talent.

I like imported movies with subtitles (and also good movies). One movie that was kind of strange was, City of Lost Children. I have listed many of the movies I own on DVD. The old Zatoichi films are good and anything made by, Akira Kurosawa. Right now I am watching a samurai show about, "Musashi".

TV shows that I like: Law and Order (but not that CI one), Futurama, Battlestar, Rome, and Band of Brothers, etc. I don't watch much TV... only a few hours each week at most. The Daily Show and the Colbert Report every week because there is no new like fake news.

I go out hiking at Manzanita Park around three or four days a week. The view is great at in many parts... I have also found two Geo Cashes. It is more than a 3 mile hike all the way around the park.

What I’m doing with my life

I finished the show called, "Musashi" about Miyamoto Musashi.

Recently I heard a song on 88.1 KZSC (Santa Cruz) by the band Explosions in the Sky. They are an instrumental post-rock band from Texas. Explosions in the Sky wrote the soundtrack for the 2004 film Friday Night Lights. KZSC has a lot of different types of radio shows because they are the Santa Cruz College station.

Working on getting that one really important job, “The one Job to Rule them All”. Got a job doing Cashier work till then?

I have been trying to correct any errors that can be found in my profile. Do you see anything major?

I’m really good at

The Game, "Go". If you want to know about it try Wikipedia it has a very nice description of the game. I’m ranked in at 5 kyu which the wiki article says is “Intermediate Player”. If I remember correctly someone told me 14 kyu is the national average in the United States. It is said that someone improves by one rank in Go when what they know has doubled. So it seems to be exponentially harder to improve at the higher ranks.

Walking/hiking, yes what can I say? "I can walk for miles and miles and miles…"

Cooking with the phone pressed to my ear on hold with the IRS. What a sad skill...

The first things people usually notice about me

I'd like to know... I'm tall with a deep voice.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books I am reading now: After Dark by, Haraki Murakami and The Minority Report and Other Classic Stories by, Philip K. Dick. Many of the stories written by, Philip K. Dick was made into movies. "Nine of his stories have been adapted into popular films since his death, including Blade Runner, Total Recall, A Scanner Darkly and Minority Report."

A short list of movies that I own on DVD: The Fountain, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Snatch, Spiderman, Kill Bill, Leon the Professional, Dragon Slayer, Excalibur, Dead Man, Dark City, Donnie Darko, 300, Sin City, V for Vendetta, Fight Club, Pi, Requiem for a Dream, plus Intacto, Empire of the Wolves, Osama, The Lover, Ong-Bak, Yojimbo, Zatoichi, Casshern, The Eel, Wasabi, Volcano High, Conduct Zero, Shinobi, and Audition. I have and had more some of the DVDs don't play correctly any more and I didn't list them.

Music CDs that I own: almost everything by Radiohead, six CDs by Jethro Tull, two CDs by Phish, Cake Comfort Eagle, and five CDs by the Grateful Dead. I have some other CDs and had more in the past. People didn't return many and some I lost.

Classical music that I have on CD: Ravel, Mozart, Holst, Debussy, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, Chopin, and way too much Beethoven. The ones that I like the most are Ravel, Debussy, and Tchaikovsky. Sometimes I read about the lives of people who wrote Classical music.

I like all kinds of foods... Thai curry, Vietnamese pho, Korean kimchi, Japanese Ramon, Mongolian barbeque and Chinese Sichuan etc. Spicy and hot foods are good... I really like: extra hot salsa and chips or hot wings also. The only thing that I can't stand is foods with too much butter or cooking oil.

The six things I could never do without

A Girlfriend, books, music, "the intarweb" (yes it isn't spelled correctly), a car, and coffee.

Books People should read:
J. D. Salinger: The Catcher in the Rye
Shakespeare: Richard the 3rd
Michael Shaara: The Killer Angels
Steven Pressfield: Gates of Fire
Terry Pratchett: Going Postal
Dan Simmons: Ilium
Kim Stanley Robinson: Red Mars
Alastair Reynolds: Revelation Space
Philip Jose Farmer: To Your Scattered Bodies Go

"That's all I'd do all day. I'd just be the catcher in the rye and all."

On a typical Friday night I am

On the computer, at a movie, or playing a board game called, "Go".

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I don't get out much but enjoy road trip to far away places.

Many people don’t give me a chance… I don’t like snap judgments. I have never met anyone like me. It is hard to find friends my own age.

You should message me if

If I sent you a message you should reply... I will often look at the same profiles and send them messages. I'm looking to talk to people and become friends. It would be nice to go out with someone.

Have you seen the test that I have taken? My profile has a lot of information about me. I'm not good at meeting people or talk to people that I don't know. I'll get some more pictures... I'm looking to have a 5 star profile if I can.
