My self-summary
Hi there. I'm not quite sure how to start this thing. I had a profile set but it was horribly outdated. I wish I could adequately summarize myself in a text box but I feel as though it really wouldn't capture the true me. So, send a message. I'll probably respond. But, for the sake of this box I'll do my best to give a self summary.

I'm a 23 year old graduate of SHSU with a degree in political science with an emphasis in international affairs and foreign language, and I've recently completed the culinary arts program at Le Cordon Bleu. Food is a huge passion of mine, and one that I hope to make a career out of in some way.

I used to live in Africa. I worked with at-risk children ages 5-6 in an economically disadvantaged area of Cape Town with little means or resources to keep children out of trouble. I taught very basic world geography and conversational English. When I wasn't working at the school I was usually running around Cape Town on some sort of adventure or studying either isiXhosa or Afrikaans; two languages of South Africa. I guess you could add those to the list of languages I (kinda) speak. Going back to South Africa is a top priority in my life. The people are beautiful, the languages are stunning, the geography is breathtaking, and the feeling you get when seeing an impromptu street performance of dancers and singers is indescribable. Kwelakakith iAfrika. "It's beautiful in Africa."

Other than my schooling, I'm a pretty chill guy looking for people to chat with. I love crowds and being social-- Always up for going to new places. Friendship is definitely the most important thing in my life, along with family.

I am musical, witty, and philosophical

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies: Beautiful Thing, The Saw series, Clue, Saved, But I'm A Cheerleader, Jurassic Park, The Others, Breach, The Interpreter, Finding Nemo, The Devil Wears Prada, Cloverfield, V for Vendetta, Elizabeth the Golden Age, Doubt, The Help, Black Swan, French foreign films

Favorite books include: Hamlet, House of Leaves, Macbeth, Apathy and Other Small Victories, The Effects of Gamma Rays on Man in the Moon Marigolds, Les Miserables, Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister, Winkie, Wicked, the Harry Potter series, As I Lay Dying, and this is where the nerd in me comes out: Plato's Republic.

Food: Studying food has given me a lot of great insight to different types of cuisine from around the world and the intricacies of how dishes are conceived and executed. I love a good plate of food where you can tell the cook has put his or her heart into it. Contemporary Chinese and French-American fusion has a special place in my heart though.

Music: I'm a grab bag. Lately I've been listening to a lot of top 40s and contemporary jazz, with a few French songs, isiXhosa songs, and classic hip-hop thrown in there for a twist.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
The thing is... I overthink. So if I told you what I've been thinking about lately it wouldn't make a whole lot of sense. Though, to be fair, I have spent a lot of time recently studying elementary astrophysics and theories on space-time. If I ever wanted to pursue another degree, I think I'd strongly consider a concentration in theoretical physics. That way, when I found myself overthinking about universal "constants" and why things happened when they did, I could justify it as "Oh no. Don't worry. This is my job."

On a typical Friday night I am
Lately I've been curled up with a book, or watching a movie home alone. Not the most social thing I could be doing, but it's comforting none the less.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Ha... I guess that I'm really not looking for only sex. I want a relationship, not a one-nighter.

Was that a cop-out?
