My self-summary
I moved to Austin almost 5 years ago and have no plans to live anywhere else in the near future. I'm genuine, loving, optimistic and goofy. Play is much more important than work, although I take personal responsibilities very seriously.

I am a dreamer and filled with passion. I'm somewhat of a free spirit and like to just roll with the punches. I go out by myself often, especially to see bands or to other festivals; I'm not going to let the fact that I'm alone stop me from doing what I really want to do. I just want to experience all there is to experience in a true way.

I love to see live music and want so badly to travel.

I'm also quite bad at self-summaries. Ask me anything!
What I’m doing with my life
Working my day job to pay the bills, while still keeping my inner artist engaged and creating things. I am trying to get my finances in order and save substantially (I'm considering pedicabbing) so I can travel the world. First stop: Iceland, then Wales.
I’m really good at
Cooking, vegan baking, art (primarily painting and photography, I like to make jewelry too), knowing what to do in this town, having a positive attitude, making my friends laugh, puzzle games: Tetris, Lumines, Guitar Hero... and Super Smash Brothers Melee, Cards Against Humanity, Settlers of Catan (but I haven't played in years), hangman/ Wheel of Fortune, recognizing actors from previous roles... etc, etc.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
***Feel free to scroll by this, could be a TL;DR kind of situation...

Book: The Perks of Being a Wallflower - Stephen Chbosky, Lullaby - Chuck Palahnuik, The Hunger Games/ Girl With the Dragon Tattoo series. I enjoy obscure fiction, coming of age stories and stories about addiction. I also like non-fiction: The Omnivore's Dilemma, Born to Run, Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking, etc. I don't read enough... suggest something for me!

Movies: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Garden State, Trainspotting, Office Space, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Empire Records, The Departed, 28 Days/Weeks Later, Vanilla Sky, Silver Linings Playbook. I also like obscure and addiction type movies... not sure why I'm so drawn to stuff like that. Lately I've been watching every indie/dark romantic movie on Netflix, one by one. I found 3 really awesome ones: Like Crazy, Take this Waltz and The Diary of Preston Plummer.

TV: Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, House of Cards, Parenthood, New Girl, Gilmore Girls, Heroes, My So-Called Life, It's Always Sunny..., Peep Show, Archer

Music: All kinds, but primarily indie/alternative rock. Too many to list but a few favorites: Arcade Fire, Radiohead, The Decemberists, Jimmy Eat World, The Mowgli's, Jack's Mannequin, Passion Pit, Phoenix, The Postal Service (or basically anything involving Ben Gibbard), Taking Back Sunday, Two Door Cinema Club, Saves the Day, Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish, Sublime, Led Zeppelin, etc, etc. I listen to 103.1 (iheartaustin) in the car a lot, and I've discovered lots of awesome new music recently. I also love several local bands here in Austin: Mighty Mountain, Mobley, Whiskey Shivers, C&C Whiskey Business, The Digital Wild, etc.

Food: Healthy, mostly plant based. But I love bread too much. and Mexican food. I love to cook different things and challenge my abilities.
The six things I could never do without
*the beautiful outdoors
*music and art of all kinds
*physical activity/ fitness
*Topo Chico, COFFEE (seriously, I'm like the Gilmore Girls) and craft beer
*positive people to surround myself with
*my cat, rupert
and... adventure.

So it's 7, what of it?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
*my life and where I'd like it to go from here
*my next project or adventure... or how to improve myself
*what I'm gonna cook for dinner/ what kind of workout/adventure I'm gonna go on next
*the best bike route from my apartment to ---
*what music festival I am going to this year
*how I can maximize my vacation time to travel and have the most experiences
*how I can settle my mind long enough to start writing creatively again
*photo field trip destinations
*where to go camping and who will go with me
*the zombie apocalypse

Also, been thinking about this one a lot lately: a good percentage of dude's profiles on here says something along the lines of 'you should break the mold and message me first! social gender roles are lame... blah blah blah.' Yet, I've sent several messages first and have never received a response. What gives? :-P
On a typical Friday night I am
@ the gym
@ a show or movie
or @ home or a friends house just chillin'

I'm not gonna be one of those people that says 'my friday night is anything but typical,' because that up there is pretty much accurate. I'm always down for new adventures though! :)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Instead of calling me a hipster, all of my friends say I'm so Austin. I take it as a compliment.

***No one really thinks I'm a hipster, but people appreciate the fact that I moved here from somewhere extremely different, but I embrace the Austin lifestyle and all it has to offer completely.
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like girls
  • Ages 27–37
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You think you can make me laugh. It shouldn't be that much of a challenge :)

You wanna take me on an adventure! Or, just get coffee or something.

Or, if you want to suggest a book, movie, band, recipe, restaurant, show, bar, beer, game... or really ANYTHING that you think I'd be interested in.
