My self-summary
I have to admit
I don't always like the book
more than the movie.

If your eyes just rolled, I totally get it. If you would argue that my haiku needs work, or doesn't technically qualify as a haiku, I get that, too. Also, I feel I have to tell you, dear reader, that I changed the last line from "better than the film" because I thought including the word film in a haiku was slightly more pretentious than I wanted to be, which was already moderately pretentious, given the presence of said haiku. Still with me? Wow. Would not have guessed it.

I'm much more into sincerity than irony. I am really excited that there's a comic book about the life of Richard Feynman. I'm often overdressed. A rainy Saturday morning spent making breakfast and reading before meeting up with friends for an evening out dancing is usually what I'm going for.
What I’m doing with my life
What a horrifying question.
I’m really good at
Spotting continuity errors, misremembering song lyrics, but also karaoke, somewhat paradoxically.
The first things people usually notice about me
I am a surprisingly good dancer.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Winter's Tale by Mark Helprin, Team of Rivals by Doris Kearns-Goodwin, Born Standing Up by Steve Martin, The Passage by Justin Cronin, Still Life With Woodpecker by Tom Robbins, and 11/22/63 by Stephen King. I tried reading Murakami's 1Q84 and got 90% of the way through before I realized I didn't care.

The Hudsucker Proxy, The Rock, Brick, Benny and Joon, 12 Monkeys and My Blue Heaven.

The Wire and The West Wing, like everyone else. Top Gear, even though I don't own a car, know nothing about them and disagree with Jeremy Clarkson vehemently on seemingly every political issue. He was put on this earth to describe cars like John Cusack was put on this earth to talk directly to the camera. And QI, which is this strange, enlightening and hilarious thing on the BBC.

I like all sorts of music, but my favorite song alternates between "Pillar of Salt" by the Thermals, "Sinnerman" by Nina Simone or "Talk Show Host" by Radiohead. Or, "De Torrente" from Vivaldi's Dixit Dominus.

I like most foods, but specifically those tempura fried sweet potato roll not-really-sushi things.
The six things I could never do without
Bikes, hiking boots, something to read, making and listening to music, hot sauce.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to say things backwards, and as a result, palindromes. Repairs I need to make on my bike. Snowclones, which are a real thing. Songs, books and movies I wish I'd written.
On a typical Friday night I am
With friends, grabbing a drink at a quiet, neighborhood bar and then going to a bar that's way too crowded, or going dancing, or finally getting around to seeing that one indie movie that I've been telling people I really want to go see but haven't.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Whale watching when I was 10 years old is the greatest gift I have ever received, and probably will ever receive. I think I'm OK with that.
