I'm a fun-loving mathematician who also loves music, and enjoys biking to school every day, even in the winter. I like cooking and especially when i have guests or a cooking partner! I like to talk about interesting stuff from movies to science and current events. I like to be critical of everything, but also take it easy and laugh at things including myself.

books: I could name lots of math books but then I'd be a geek. I like to skim through books and read articles, although I do read popular fiction every now and then. I liked Crime and Punishment, Plato, Shakespeare, the Lord of the Rings, to name a few classics.

movies: lots: some Coen brothers like Big Lebowski and No Country for Old Men; recently I liked the Dark Knight and Synecdoche was interesting. I liked Spirited Away and some other Miyazaki movies, Lust/Caution, Frost vs. Nixon, there will be blood. Hitchcock!

music: classical organ, piano, and other music (esp. Bach, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Debussy, Chopin, Prokofiev, Hindemith, Mozart, etc.); assorted popular music, and flemish mtv when I was there (e.g. katy perry's i kissed a girl was amusing)

food: home-cooked with friends! aside from that, all kinds: notably, chinese, persian, spicy, etc. I like local mushrooms, and have gone mushroom picking with an expert I know. I also like french cheeses (unpasteurized), and it's too bad roquefort was just tripled in price. I really like bread and am something of a connaisseur (rye/sourdough/multigrain, crusty, etc.)
