My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I love words, music, films, and television. It helps that I do that creative-type stuff for a living! Well not music, really. I just started learning piano, I am now passable at the first movement of Moonlight Sonata. Open to suggestions for my next piece.

If I could meet 5 dead people they'd be (in no particular order): Sagan, Lincoln, MLK, Hendrix and Cordwainer Smith. Each of them has influenced my life and opinions in such a manner that I wouldn't be the same person without them. I've met some of my contemporary heroes, it was awesome; Christopher Hitchens, Greg Graffin and Eugene Hutz. I wrote letters to Jack Vance and Ursula Le Guin and got personal replies, which is close enough.

I'd like to go back in time and visit medieval England. I've been to contemporary England, though, and it was pretty sweet. I'd love to go back. I'd also love to visit: China, Russia, Canada, France, Italy, Australia and New Zealand. I like to travel, but haven't had time enough to do that lately. Hopefully soon!

I like being a cornucopia of random knowledge and facts. I like trivia games. I can usually beat my friends at Trivial Pursuit, but I think that's more because they're bad at it than I'm any good. I'm always trying to learn more stuff!

INTJ, if that's your kinda thing.

I am a squinty motherfucker. See: pictures.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work in Television post production. Exciting, I know. Not really. But I like to pretend my soul hasn't been sucked away by reality TV. Also playing a lot of ping pong instead of working. So that's an upside?

I am a freelance writer for a video game, and I'm editing a feature film.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I am pretty good at getting along with most anybody. I am a good cook, a good reader and a good conversationalist. I have a moderate vocabulary and etymology fascinates me to no end. I also brew a wicked Scottish ale.

Accidentally using the British spellings of -ize/-ise words. We're in 'Merica damnit.

Not sure if I'm particularly exemplary, but I do enjoy a good pun war.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My impossibly laconic wit.

(A) I'll list authors first: Jack Vance, Cordwainer Smith, Ursula K LeGuin. Books: The God Delusion, Good Omens, Expanse trilogy, Dark Tower series, God is not Great, A Song of Ice and Fire, Kingkiller Chronicles. The last 12 months have had a lot of fantasy books in my life. This is unusual for me. I think I will go on a fantasy hiatus for a while. Unless Winds of Winter is suddenly released then fuck that, give me book.

(B) Lord of the Rings, Pi, Requiem for a Dream, The Big Lebowski, Schindler's List, Moon, Chinese cinema, Empire Records. Documentaries in general. I unironically love most musicals. Except Cats. Yikes.

(C) Bad Religion, Beethoven, Nekromantix, Pete Seeger, Aquabats, Jimi Hendrix, NOFX, HP Lovecraft (Yes, I put this in music. No, not the books on tape. The BAND!) Armin van Buuren ASOT, Johnny Cash, Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Howlin' Wolf, Gogol Bordello, Sage Francis, J5, Old Black Keys. Blues, all.

(D) Italian, Indian, Mexican, American, Chinese, Thai

(Q) TV: Battlestar Galactica, Dr. Who, Game of Thrones, Stargates, Red Dwarf, Star Trek, South Park, Extras, Arrested Development, The Wire, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The IT Crowd, Party Down, Rome, Eddie Izzard and Louis CK stand up specials, Carl Sagan is my hero for his Cosmos series.

My favorite accent is of the Scottish variety. I listen to George Galloway on YouTube when I'm bored. Mostly just for his accent.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Freedom, Books, Music, Humor, Internet, and Tropes
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Science. Ideas for movies, books or music videos. See if I ever do anything with it. Funny words. Language in general. How to conquer the world. Science. How to trick the unsuspecting bystander into thinking I'm cool. Also, why my cat has such a weird meow. It's more like a loud exhale. She's broken, yet adorable.

On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Work. Always. Sometimes Saturday nights too. Sundays are the days to party! If by party you mean maybe play a board game and watch Game of Thrones...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I play Dungeons and Dragons. Attack the Darkness!

I am well aware of the correct pronunciation of "biopic" I just refuse to use it, it is stupid.

Not exactly private, but I can't think of another place for it. I am well aware I am overweight. I have been working on it for 6 months and have lost around a second grader. He sucked anyway. More to go, it's an ongoing process.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
If you've ever read Jack Vance, Cordwainer Smith, or Ursula LeGuin.

Seemingly unlike the majority of men my age, I'm not looking for the Manic Pixie Dream Girl. What's the male version of that? The Joesph Gordon Levitt to Zoey Deschenel? Anyway, message me if you're not looking for that.

You have plans and life goals. I tend to date women slightly older than me because of this. If you're a woman on the verge of 30 and know you don't want kids, I'm so sold. I mean I'm not opposed to someone younger than me, just someone who knows what they want out of life and that should preclude kids.

You would like to discuss the merits and drawbacks of a free-market pseudocapitalist system as compared to the antonymous system of socialism controlled by a single governing body. Or, you know, you wanna say hi!
