I feel like I've been very lucky --my kids have grown up to be
loving, ethical and funny adults which is a source of great
satisfaction to me. As a midwife working with under-served women I
am reminded daily of how far even a little kindness goes. Living in
the country gives me the peace and beauty of the natural world.
Loved ones, books, birds, sweetness and hilarity are important to
me as well as bays, rivers, lakes and warm oceans. Also dogs,
particularly big jaunty ones. I do well on my own but it would be
nice to have a warm hand (and heart and body) to hold at this

My New Year's resolution is to cultivate happiness although
cultivation is not one of my strong suits...Otherwise working part
time with my mamas, staying close to friends and family,
particularly loving watching my little grandchild bloom, worrying
about the birds on these dim days, taking walks, swimming if it's
not too cold, long walks if it is...reading, movies and writing.
