My self-summary
I look at the world from the eyes of an artist, but analyzing everything like a scientist. I approach the world with enthusiasm and wide-eyed wonder.

I love to write, act, and sing, and do way too little of all three.

"You're a short time livin' and a long time dead, so let me give some advice my friend: keep your water weak and your whiskey strong, keep your hands in your pockets and you won't go wrong."
-Old Irish "Proverb"

I am sociably nerdy. I enjoy a night at the bar and watching the game (all sports), or playing video games and watching sci-fi equally. I like going out for a hike or to a rock wall, or staying in listening to music or just the sound of rain. In fact, I find a way to enjoy and be comfortable doing almost anything.

"Ain't got no future or family tree, but I know what a prince and lover ought to be..."

I like finding ways to make people feel special and good about themselves. I’ll treat you like a gentleman should, but with a smile that lets you know I’m interested. I can usually take a hint.

"Cowards die many times before their deaths, the Valiant never taste of death but once."

I won't say no to an opportunity as long as it's not inherently selfish or destructive. I won't miss a potential adventure!

"Don't take life too seriously. You'll never get out of it alive."
-Elbert Hubbard (I absolutely looked that up)

I treat all points of view with respect, but take little seriously and love to debate or talk about everything. I’m playful in the way that I will splash in puddles, race you to the car, wrestle if the situation calls for it, but all the while talk about meaning, what ifs, and whatever is interesting at the time.

"Two roads diverged in a yellow wood... I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference."
-Robert Frost

"Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run There's still time to change the road you're on."
-Led Zepplin (mostly because I've always liked how these quotes contrasted each other)

I have an extremely laid back and "arms wide open" attitude, but this is not to be mistaken for aimlessness, indecision, or apathy. Rather, I value spontaneity, diversity (in intention and interest), and passion. I have pursued what "felt right," left my schedule open for surprise, and am ravenously pursuing surrounding myself with people who are the same way.

I'm just as comfortable in a suit as I am in sandals, tees, and shorts. Regardless of season however, you'll usually find me in the latter.

I grow out my facial hair or shave on a whim. I am open to adapt to preference. It's one of my ways of mixing it up.

I'm determined to bring back the words "swell" and "dapper".

What I’m doing with my life
Working full time at the Verizon Wireless call center in Wallingford, and I love it. Dedicated tech support is a good fit for me.
Looking for something new to learn.
Moving on and up.
I’m really good at
Video games, climbing, writing, making a fool of myself in public.

Running with it.

Usually at making people feel comfortable. Sometimes, as needed, shaking things up.

I'm one of those jack-of-all trades types. It isn't a boast to say there's a lot I'm good at: I wish there was more I did phenomenally X).
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm short. My eyes (they change color depending on what I wear). I'm intense. I laugh easily and smile a lot. My smile is extremely distinctive and my eyes tend to be looking into whatever and whoever I see as opposed to at them.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
a) Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, anything by Shakespeare, most renaissance plays, Oedipus Rex, classics (mostly plays, I'm dyslexic so reading takes awhile)

b) Anchorman, First Strike, Memento, Lawrence of Arabia, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Dark Knight, the first and third Die Hard, V For Vendetta, anything with Simon Pegg, Fallen, most of the Disney classics (especially Aladdin), and if it has Will Farrel, Vince Vaughn, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, or Jason Segal I could probably quote it from start to finish (I can be really obnoxious to watch my favorite movies with)

c) Delirious?, Dispatch, Jack Johnson, Led Zepplin, The Cars, The Doors, Eric Clapton, Sting, classical (I know my basics), and quite honestly a little of everything.

d) Brooklyn Nine Nine, Ground Floor, Boondocks, Burn Notice, Falling Skies, The Office, Walking Dead, Suits, Agents of Shield

e) Sushi, steak, chicken pizza, German Chocolate Cake, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, anything Dunkin Donuts, Gobstoppers, Starbursts, Hoptical Illusion, Moscato, and Coke beverages only please

My taste is pretty eclectic.
The six things I could never do without
1) Strong convictions, and perhaps more importantly people to debate them with
2) My best friends and family
3) A good or enjoyable video game, TV show, movie, or book
4) comfortable clothes (don't care much about labels)
5) My computer OR cell, mostly for information and communication
6) A cold beer on a bad day, on a special occasion, or because it's a day ending in Y.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My future, my past, and the way things are. I like to watch a person I'm talking to and figure out what their different mannerisms mean until people catch me staring and then try to make it less awkward with a wry smile. Often I'm trying to figure out a pun based off of what someone just said. What I think about race, sex, and politics can be captured by the show The Boondocks.
On a typical Friday night I am
At work until 9:15. Better than what I had, but hoping I can do better. Always heading to karaoke at J's Crab Shack after that, and Beachland Tavern after that.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I talk to myself a lot. I downright babble if I'm tired or hungry (and am probably grumpy, just feed me and I'll be my delightful self again). I also talk to inanimate objects and animals (I promise I'm not crazy).

As thoughtful as I may be, I make a lot of decisions based off of Rock, Paper, Scissors, rolling a die, and flipping a coin (if the stakes are high enough, sometimes all three).

I sing along to any song I like. Even a few I don't.

I've never broken a bone. A friend described me as indestructible, and I'm starting to believe him.

I have a thing for women in glasses. Wear them on a first date and you win.

I have pulled a muscle playing air guitar.
You should message me if
After some research and reading of profiles, I will give you the top ten reasons:

1) I will be honest
2) I will make you laugh (that's my goal in every human interaction I have)
3) I tell good stories
4) I will respond (usually at length, although sometimes late given I make an effort not to be buried in a phone)
5) I will be appropriate (or appropriately inappropriate as you prefer ;)
6) I will be kind
7) I can keep a conversation going
8) I will listen
9) I will keep an open mind (the only thing I'm sure of at this point in my life is I have so much more to learn)
10) The first message always sucks... how can you be creative, funny, and original before you even say hello? I'm conscious of that and promise not to judge ;)
