I see the world as one big art project and my existence is to contribute to it. I celebrated my first year in chicago by biking in many layers over a long distance for a small cup of coffee. i love the way the light at the end pf the day makes every building in chicago all the more beautiful. the skyline view looking north from the steps of the aquarium is one of my favorite things, and walks along the beach with tea and snow. i enjoy meeting new people especially if they are inquisitive and eager to learn, creative in their profession and attitude toward life, and can challenge me in my art and give good advice on the non profit design/planning/policy start up i am launching. these days i am learning and reading a lot about robotics, urban planning and journalism, fashion design, anatomy, speech, and getting ready for a phD or MS in the next few years.

i love early morning sunrises and the way the air smells so clean and quiet after a fresh snow at night. even better if i am out with my horse or sitting on a fence at a barn in the mountains.

i make art, design and performance, and publish research papers about the projects i create. i present at conferences, give lectures. i travel. i am the creative director for a latino/a design and planning start up. i edit an academic journal and i sing, all the time. i teach when i can.

i grew up along the east coast and have spent much of my life traveling and living in the big, open, outdoors - montana, alaska, argentina. i am always up for an adventure if you are.

Wearing earmuffs. cooking and riding horses. telling stories and sometimes finishing them. laughing. watching operas, going to burning man, writing and singing and helping others to do the same. wonderful listener. getting my hands dirty in the garden. meditating. yoga. hiking long distances. singing, i love singing. coming in second place in a cookie bake off with my friend ruckus.

i eat everything.
if you give me a book, i will probably read it. i have a huge bookshelf and more in the closet. i am reading a book on vocal technique, a fiction anthology, editing portfolios of latino urban designers, and love ... the covenant, catcher in the rye, slaughterhouse 5, the red notebook, actos desfiantes, catch 22, blindness...
There is much to be said for music.
I like to move.

When i was about 10 my foot was caught in the stirrup of a run away horse that dragged me off during a cattle rundup. years later i am a better horsewoman for it.

If you want to say hello. you like to laugh, connect, have great conversations, are interesting and enthusiastic about life, can be goofy, enjoy going to costume parties, could rock a pair of cowboy boots with class... and see yourself living in europe or overseas. if adventure excites you, if you like the countryside as much as the city. if you'd go to yoga if i rewarded you....
