I am a beautiful, happy, joyful being. I love people, and I love to remind everyone, including myself, of how silly humans are. While I have a penchant for the whimsical, I do not like things which serve no purpose. I want people to feel comfortable being who they are. One of my goals is to let people know that they don't have to feel ashamed or guilty for being themselves. I also like to help others strip away things they may feel guilty about which aren't necessarily part of them. I consider myself to be an icosahedonist. Also, I just became a mommy.

My plan is to become a high school math teacher. I like math--how it describes the world and how everything always seems to work out. I'm not necessarily very good at doing math problems, but I can teach basic Algebra and Geometry pretty well. By becoming a math teacher, I hope to be able to open up students to the idea that, despite what they think and have been told, math is NOT inherently hard, and most of them CAN do it. They just need to be taught in a way they understand, and I am the gal for that job. YAY!

Currently, I'm the admissions coordinator at a charter high school for at-risk youth. In addition to my more-than-full-time job, I go to school at ACC and hope to transfer to the UTeach program in the fall. I've grown up in & around Austin, but eventually, I may want to move around. It'd be nice to go to some other country to teach at some point. And I get the feeling that, as I get more involved with schools, I'll be even more ambitious and decide to become a principal or change the education system in the US.

I'm on sabbatical for a few months so I can spend time with the most beautiful baby boy in the whole world. Exciting!

...spending time with people. Producing milk. I'm also pretty good at remembering things, mostly details about people, their name or random numbers. And I kick ass at Yahoo's text twist. There's nothing at which I am the best, but there are very few things that I cannot do well.

Other than that, I have no clue. It probably depends on the person. I *do* know that geek boys have a tendency to find me "intellectually and genetically intriguing". Normal WASP-type adults think I'm sweet, young and naive. I'll have to ask the rest of the people in the world what they notice about me. :)

(a) This year, my favorite books are Still Life With Woodpecker, The Tao of Pooh, The Bridge Across Forever. Others I like are A Tale of Two Cities, what I've read of The Discworld Series and anything by Laurel K. Hamilton. I've never finished a book that I didn't like.

(b) The Princess Bride, Harold & Maude, What the Bleep Do We Know?, Love Actually, Boondock Saints, Runaway Jury, Versus, Equilibrium, Serenity.

(c) I'm a fan of music, but not particularly obsessive about it in general, nor in specific. Like most people, I listen to and enjoy anything and everything.

(d) Food is fantastic! I love it dearly, and so do my thighs!

People. As long as I have people to interact with, I'm good. However, I prefer to have games, sex, good food, inside jokes, and chap stick as well.

Love (general and romantic) and what my long-term goals and plans will be. My son. I'm working on theories about how humans work. Very interesting creatures, these humans.

I think I tend to spend Friday nights catching up on sleep, watching my Netflix, or hanging out with my parents. I go out if there's something going on that's awesome enough to beat staying in.

There's nothing I can think of that I wouldn't admit to anyone. I'm open for questions, as long as the asker doesn't mind an honest answer.

I think that a lot of people immediately think, "Something private? It must mean sex!" I know that's what I thought, and I'll admit that. :)

Sometimes, when you're looking through these silly match sites and such, you come across someone that you think you'd just click with, just as friends or romantically.
