As the son of a career Air Force officer, I was afforded the opportunity to travel and experience a wide range of cultures from an early age. I lived in Japan and England before entering middle school. My high school and college years were spent in Montana and North Dakota where I formed friendships that still exist today. Following in my father's footsteps to become an Air Force officer, I received my college degree and my commission on the same day. My entire career
was spent working in human resources. This was a perfect fit for me, as i always felt more comfortable requesting an action than ordering it. Early in my career I was fortunate enough to have the Air Force send me to the University of Oregon for my MBA. From that initial exposure to the PNW, I knew that this is where I wanted to put down roots. The remainder of my career was spent in Germany, the DC area, and Louisiana. My daughter was born just as I retired from the military and I chose to scale back my future career plans to take on a fully active role in parenting while my spouse pursued her practice. This was one of the most rewarding decisions that I have ever made. After my divorce I became the custodial parent, and I still have a room with purple walls to prove it. My employment history ended with over sixteen fun filled years with a large Seattle based retailer known for shoes and outstanding customer service.
