My self-summary
Seriously, does it even matter what I write here? I know you want to go straight to the pictures, so go ahead. They're nothing special, but what are you gonna do? I'm thinking about growing a goatee and posting a few shirtless pictures of me in a speedo washing a black and gold corvette 'cause that would work, right? Can one of you ladies ask your ex if i can borrow his corvette? :)

Unusual gentleman seeks open minded, irreverent, lady for clever banter and general shenanigans about town. Actually, I have no idea what I'm seeking, but shenanigans always seem like a good idea. I'm looking forward to meeting someone with a few similar interests (movies, literature, fitness, tennis, skiing, the arts anyone?) and a few similar perspectives (liberal, agnostic, open-minded at least!) In the end, it's all about the chemistry, and that can't be matched by computer. So, if you think you might be interested in meeting an active, fit, educated professional for wide ranging conversation and eclectic cultural adventures, I'd be excited to hear from you. An affection for all music from classic crooners (Bobby Darin, Frank Sinatra) to album rock (the Green Day show was awesome!) appreciated, but not required. A tolerance for my overuse of parenthesis might be a requirement.

Identify this quote and I'll buy drinks when we meet!
"For what do we live, but to make sport for our neighbors, and laugh at them in our turn?''
Actually, I'll buy drinks even if you can't correctly identify the quote. This is a dating site, not Jeopardy.

I'm pretty much WYSIWYG. I've got an interesting and challenging career, but it doesn't define me. I have plenty of time and energy to maintain other interests. I stay very fit: I'm a runner, love to ride my bikes (mountain and road, not Harley) and I lift weights as required. I'm no aficionado, but I really enjoy the performing arts, whether it's the symphony, ballet or theater. MoMA in NYC is one of my favorite places on earth, but that's only because I haven't been to Greece, Italy or the Louvre - yet.
What I’m doing with my life
My sons are grown (23, 22 and 19) and I'm quite proud of the young men they've become. I loved coaching basketball, helping with homework and building science projects, but I'm ready for the next phase of life. More books, more travel, and hopefully a partner/friend/lover with complimentary interests and a liberal perspective.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I'm much better looking than my pics. Can I say that, or am I cheating?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
lit: A Thousand Splendid Suns, The Sound and the Fury, Crime and Punishment. movies: High Fidelity, Wings of Desire, Dodgeball, The Dark Knight. diet: I don't eat red meat, but I love seafood and make a mean Thai chili scallop
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I choke up during the final game sequence of the movie "Hoosiers". I'm a sucker for a good underdog story.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 40–52
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
I'm really hoping to meet a fit, attractive lady to share interests and activities, and all the good things life has to offer. My ideal match would have a positive energy, outlook, and sense of adventure to match my own. Cynicism kills, but clever sarcasm is fun. Someone who can banter about life, the universe, and everything, while hiking a rocky canyon or strolling an art museum would be perfect, but mostly I seek a partner with a generous heart and gentle spirit.
