My self-summary
There are two sides to me. The gentle, romantic lady who enjoys hand holding, walking arm in arm, slow dancing and cuddling on the couch. The lady who likes to receive flowers...just because. The one who looks forward to going for long drives and talking about everything under the sun...or just quietly enjoying each other's company and the scenery around us.

Then there’s the other side of me. The part who likes camping, quadding (playing in the mud), and spending time at the shooting range. The one who would like that drive to be in a Jeep off the beaten path. I don’t watch Nascar but I used to love going to the Secret Street drag races Friday nights at Race City. Show & Shines are a regular part of my summer.

I have a warped sense of humour and a hint of sarcasm....okay maybe more than a hint. On the flip side I'm the kind of person others go to when they need help because they know I'll be there.

I love music. Pretty much anything except rap….yes, that includes country (the new stuff). Yeah, I’m the person you see drumming on the steering wheel and singing my heart out. Movies? Anything except horror. I can't understand why people just don't run away (???).

A few important facts:
I have two amazing sons (16 & 12). As you can imagine, they share many of my interests. They are easy going and independent. Normally I have them every other week but we have a flexible schedule.

I don’t have any right now, but I love dogs and they seem to like me. Cats are cute, but I'm really a dog person.

I’m a non-smoker, don’t use drugs and drink very little. I would like the same from the person I’m with.

If I haven’t scared you off drop me a note to say “HI”.

Take care
D

P.S. In case you're wondering, I have been legally separated since 2004. There is no going back.
The first things people usually notice about me
My smile. I smile a lot. I think it sometimes makes people nervous because they wonder what I'm up to, or thinking.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Ahhh entertainment. I guess it depends on my mood.

Music: I'll listen to pretty much anything with a good beat or maybe it's just a feel-good song. Zac Brown Band, Rascal Flatts, Nickelback, AC/DC, Burton Cummings, Elvis, Foreigner...I also like some blues & jazz. I couldn't give you the artists, but I know what I like.

Movies: Wow, a big range here. Fast & Furious series, anything with Jackie Chan, Band of Brothers, Hunt for Red October, Lethal Weapon, Weekend at Bernies, chick flicks I won't even bother to name, kids animated movies. I don't like horror /slash-em movies. I just can't understand why the victims don't run away.

Shows: There is a group of us who regularly go to the Laugh Shop. It's great to laugh until you can't breathe. We've also been to Jubilations many times, just not often enough.

Food: I'm willing to try many things. I can't eat spicy food. I wish I could, but I just can't. :-(
The six things I could never do without
1. My kids, friends & family. We're a close, fun-loving bunch.

2. My health. You really understand it when you're sick with the flu or hurt your back.

3. My vehicle. It takes me where I need or want to go...with my friends & family... and is just fun to drive.

4. Music. It sets the mood. It could be the soft flute-like songs to help you relax. It could be a hard-core rocking tune when you want to get pumped. Maybe it's a lovesong so you can slow dance with that special person.

5. Good food. Think about it, whenever you're socializing what's always there....food.

6. Timmies. I'm beginning to believe what they say about that stuff being addictive. I'd drive out of my way to get my weekend fix. Do you want to join me?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why such a great person like me is still single - haha
On a typical Friday night I am
My Fridays are spent at the rink. I'm a scorekeeper for a men's hockey league so I get to spend three hours babysitting guys in the penalty boxes.
