My self-summary
PA native, formerly from the Steel City, most recently resided in the Birthplace of America before moving to Chicago (Steelers Super Bowl victory riots are the best and it's actually not always sunny in Philadelphia, in fact it's usually quite cloudy except in the summer.)

Egalitarian, devout atheist, travel addict, cat enthusiast, probably some kind of socialist, unskilled musician, genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist...those last few might be Tony Stark.

Traveling is very important to me. I try to take one big trip every year, if I can afford it. I've only missed two years since 2007. (2006 if you count Disney World) However, I think in 2014 in place of one big trip, I will be taking a bunch of small trips instead. Here's the first three:
NYC 6/7-6/8, Toronto 6/14-6/15 and DC 6/21-6/22.

Most of my free time these days is spent reading books, writing music and maybe playing a few video games.

I am vehemently against the Oxford comma.

Full disclosure: I'm not really looking for a hookup and I'm definitely not looking for someone to start a family with/long-term relationship. I'm looking for a Chicago native or long-time resident to be friends with/my guide to this city/musical collaborator/drinking buddy/travel companion/co-adventurer, etc.
What I’m doing with my life
Reading one book per week (at least trying to)
Hanging out with my cat, Marshmallow (AKA Fartsmello, AKA Dr. Schmomo)
Traveling whenever I can.
Trying to go on adventures.
Writing about future governments and societies.
Reinventing heavy metal.
Hoping that moving means I never again have to hear the word "water" pronounced incorrectly.
I’m really good at
Knowing useless facts. I've never lost a game of Trivial Pursuit.
Keeping New Year's resolutions apparently. I never did them before this year, but I made two and I'm about halfway done both of them.
The first things people usually notice about me

My general "leave me alone" appearance. (I probably don't want you to leave me alone, but I look like I do)

Also, I'm usually covered in cat hair and scratches.

The six things I could never do without
There's not really much I could never do without. I suppose I should make a list anyway:

1. Electricity
2. Belgian(-style) Wheat Ales
3. Adventure
4. Music
5. Doritos Locos Tacos
6. Alone Time
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Moving. A lot. Often. Now that I've finally escaped PA, I'm thinking of just moving to a new city around the country every year or so. If I can afford it, of course.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out at a bar, maybe, but this is getting less and less true.
Probably at home with a beer and a book.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have trouble talking to people unless they say something to me first. I don't initiate conversation ever. It makes it difficult for me to make friends.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 20–32
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, short-term dating
You should message me if
You should message me and tell me about cool stuff to do in Chicago!

You want to take me to a good bar trivia, we'll do pretty well, I think.

Hopping on a bus at least once a month to a city you've never been to before sounds appealing.

You want to start a band. Like some kind of weird music. Or normal music. Whatever.

You have good jokes. I don't have a whole lot, but I'll start with this one:

Knock knock.
Who's there?
Jesus who?
Jesus Christ! Let me in already!

Don't message me if you're an anti-vaxxer.
