I am perceptive, sharp, and empathetic.

My Self-Summary

I absorb information pretty well. I've moved around a fair amount. I am interested in a wide range of things. I overanalyze. I'm pretty smart. I'm down to earth. I'm an extroverted introvert. I like art and music very much. I'm a soccer dork. I love to cook.

Oh, and I once raced a grasshopper and lost. It was years ago.

What I’m doing with my life

Pursuing what I want to do, staying away from stagnation, looking where a lot of people don't seem to look. Feeling grateful, yet frustrated at times.

I’m really good at

Overanalyzing, fitting in a wide range of places, losing remote controls, trivia, showering, hostage negotiations.

The first things people usually notice about me

My eyes, or hair, or that I've seen the greatest minds of my generation destroyed by madness. Or the board with a nail in it that I carry around everywhere.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Wide range. I don't really have "favorites." Japanese is great. Thai of course. Mediterranean. Recipes you've made up yourself. I eat almost anything, including mixes of foods that I like but others might find strange.

Good film. Well done indies and foreign films to major films that aren't just about explosions or boobs. Oh, and boob flicks.

I worked in college radio for a while, so I like everything from old punk to Afro-Cuban. Some examp's: Mos Def, The Clash, Sham 69, Manu Chao, The Hold Steady, Bill Withers, Aesop Rock, Gillian Welch, Damien Jurado, The Libertines, Mojave 3, Gillian Welch, Miles Davis, Leonard Cohen

i read an embarassingly small amount but: donald barthelme, joyce, heinrich boll, rubaiyat of omar khayyam, walt whitman, rumi, twain, rushdie

The six things I could never do without

Soccer.

Close friends.

Comedy.

Numbers. I mean, think about it. All of us need numbers.

Wikipedia.

Opportunities.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Time and space, people's motives, results and actions, politics, if we exist, how we got where we are.

On a typical Friday night I am

a broken pier on the wavy sea.

You should message me if

I'm looking first and foremost to make some new friends here.

So if you can:

-Impress me with your brains

-You can find a country like Senegal or Turkmenistan on a map or at least have an idea of where they are

-You too LOVED "Arrested Development" (the TV show, not the hippie-hop band, although "Tennessee" was a good song)

-You don't watch Fox News except to induce vomiting

-You maybe speak a couple of languages

-You are good at trivia

-You think that the word "y'all" should be accepted by all English speakers

You're laidback, genuine, you like dive bars but you also like a nice wine bar , you like a wide array of music, are creative, crazy at times, active, inquisitive, witty, funny, sincere.
