My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi I'm Niall (pronounced like Nile Rogers from Chic or the river). Moved back to Hackney after studying in Edinburgh. Can't believe how hip my endz have become all of a sudden. The mad days of living in the ghetto are over!!

Spend a lot of time with my ever expanding group of friend in east London. We regularly catch up for our weekly pub quiz session at the Kenton.

I'm a very active outdoorsy type. Deep down I'm still a bit of a child at heart. Was living the dream a few years ago when I was living in Vancouver and could go snowboarding in Whistler every weekend. These days I enjoy going for swims at London Fields Lido; definitely check it if you haven't been!! Try and regularly get out of London and explore the countryside on my road bike.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Just landed myself a job in sustainable building engineering. Hoping to one day build myself a teletubi-esk eco home and feature on Grand Designs!!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Pretty decent at Slacklining; a cross between the tightrope and a trampoline. Come over and give it a try if you ever see me in Victoria Park. I'm also a great bicycle mechanic. If you need your bike fixed I could repair it in exchange for a meal.

Music - Boy don't let me get started! I'm continually on the look out for new artists. Sometimes find myself lost on musical journeys trolling through Myspace, Soundcloud, Mixmag, Pitch Folk and Fact Magazine. Owe most of my collection to Gilles Peterson. Like to think of him as my cool uncle.

Recent discoveries - Toro y Moi, DjRum, Space Dimension Controller, Machine Drum
Electronic - Bonobo, Little, Dragon, Fourtet, Burial, Scuba, Flying Lotus, Mount Kimbie, Todd Terje
House/Techno - Julio Bashmore, Theo Parrish, Moodymann
Garage - Disclosure, Mosca
Hip hop - The Roots, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Ty, Jurassic 5
Jazz - Cinematic Orchestra, Portico Quartet, Miles, Coltrane, Freddie Hubbard
DnB/Jungle - LTJ Bukem, London Elekctricity, Ronnie Size
World - Fela Kuti, Tinariwen
Old School - Steely Dan, The Talking Heads, Gil- Scott Heron

Books - I'm not a prolific reader. Switch between reading books about climate change, inequality and the wrong doings of the capitalist system with the occasional light novel.

The Shock Doctrine - Naomi Klein, The Spirit Level - Wilkinson and Picket, What is the What - Dave Edgar, 1984, Diary of Malcolm X.

Films - Best film I have seen in a long time is Searching for Sugar Man.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Friends - Could not live without my ever expanding East London crew.
Music - Life would be very dull without beats, base and horns.
My bicycle - Life in London would be slow and expensive. No bike in my life would be like loosing a limb.
Being Active - Need to be constantly active. Especially now that life revolves around a office
Coffee - And that does not include instant!

On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Every Friday night has something new to offer. Sometimes its hunting down a party to crash in Hackney Wick. Always a fan of going to hear live music. My favorite places to go for a decent night out are Corsica Studios, XOYO, Plastic People, Big Chill Bar, 1001 or Passing Clouds. Usually a night out is followed by a trip to the Dolphin; a seedy hole of a pub, but great for some after hours partying and banter with mad druken folk
