I'm trying to focus on professional and personal goals, namely, expanding both horizons in meaningful ways.

I'm a white male with glasses and facial hair. I'm as common as trees. And as elusive as a red panda or something.

I read mostly nonfiction and have a hard time getting excited about novels, honestly. I'm not opposed to the idea of fiction, I just get bored and want to move on to something else. I do like short stories, though.

I tend to like comedy on TV, but I also can get into documentaries on PBS and BBC. I love Art:21 and American Masters in particular.

When I go to a movie it's either scary or foreign. Or scary AND foreign.

I'm also into operas and ballets and live theater, but don't give as much time to them as I give to less-than-snooty entertainments.

Here's an ongoing list of movies and tv shows I have never seen (not that I'm proud or anything) Breaking Bad, Walking Dead, any Indiana Jones movies, the Godfather trilogy, Arrested Development, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Mad Men, Downton Abbey, Doctor Who, Scarface, Lord of the Rings (completely ignorant of Tolkien), more as I think of them.
