My self-summary
I always find rock star parking, started playing Rock Band, after my niece got me hooked on Guitar Hero, and one of my New Year's resolutions is to learn to play bass by the end of the year.

My baggage -- does my Samsonite wheelie bag count? Because, seriously, I can't function without a good bag. I travel about every other weekend on average, as far as Japan, Morocco, and the Caribbean, with South African and Argentina on the wish list.

I speak five languages. Unfortunately, Dutch is not one of them. That said, if you're romantically feeding me foie gras, what does it matter who's picking up the tab?

I am bright, bubbly, and bodacious.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm running late, but I'll be there soon, promise!

I find it's pretty easy to get swept up in the mundane aspects of daily life, and to lose touch with what matters to us, or makes us happy. I'm trying to refocus on the good things.

Okay, here's what I'd love to be doing. I want to capture that feeling I had when I was 20, running off to Europe and spending the summer on the back of some cute guy's Vespa (Gosh, he had nice hair, and good shoes), then coming back home to drive cross-country before school started up again. If you can make me feel that free and giddy, I promise to be endlessly witty, entertaining and charming... and talk about more than just monkeys.

(Hey, yeah, what about those monkeys? What happened to the funny profile? When did things get so serious?)
I’m really good at
driving like a New York taxi driver. I can make strangers' babies stop crying with a glance or a whisper (especially handy on airplanes and in supermarkets). (last summer, I taught my friend's 7-month-old to swim!) I'm an excellent hostess; my door is always open and my fridge is full of snacks.

I'm also good at poking fun at myself -- though I can be very serious when it's called for.

And I'm quick with a withering insult and the Block command for any married man who contacts me here. Go home to your wife and kids and leave me out of your sordid mess of a mid-life crisis, please.
The first things people usually notice about me
Great hair, nice smile, absurdist sense of humor. Monkeys, monkeys, monkeys.
The six things I could never do without
air, water, words, credit, hope, monkeys.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
"Years go by and hearts start to harden...
Here comes a feeling you thought you'd forgotten --
Chairs to sit and sidewalks to walk on."

I do spend a lot of time thinking about the nature of perception, and memory, and how we change as our life unfolds. And how we connect with others, and how much we can ever truly know or understand someone else, or expect them to get us.

Also? Monkeys. Always monkeys.
On a typical Friday night I am
.... on the road, often. (sigh) Or catching up with my family if they've been on the road recently. I tend to reserve Saturdays for friends, and Fridays for more homebound pursuits. But honestly, I'm not one to keep to any kind of schedule, and I'm known to socialize during the week at least as much as, if not more than, on the weekend.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
...Eye Philip Marlowe
...Eyes" by Hall and Oates is not as good as "Rich Girl"
.. First Class Audie Murphy
I’m looking for

You're funny, brave, handy around the house, and up for an adventure. You can cut a rug, drive stick-shift, and help out on a crossword. You're good with kids and old folks. You know how to behave like a gentleman, treat me like a lady, and make us both howl with laughter.

And you're NOT married. Geez, seriously, what is up with all the skeezy married men on here?
