My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a 38 year old lesbian.

I love writing. In my twenties I was passionate about writing for magazines. I wanted to write relationship advice articles for Cosmo. Because who better to advise lovelorn straight women than an unaware and frustrated lesbian? Eventually I wound up working for a romance magazine dedicated to Fabio, who is pretty close to a girl when you think about it (what with the man boobs and the long hair). I still can't believe it's not butter.

Thankfully, I wised up and the last five years I've spent predominately writing LGBT stuff. My dream is to write a novel. Authors are to me what rock stars are probably to you. But then again, rock stars are pretty cool too. I almost passed out once waiting for Ray Davies to sign a poster of mine.

I think I'm an old soul trapped in a young body. I love music from the 60s and 70s, film from the 40s and 50s.

I like museums. I love modern art.

Film is a real passion of mine. My TV is perpetually tuned into TCM.

I consider myself a romantic and an intellectual.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm working as a freelance writer for various clients and pursuing more traditional employment in a still questionable economy.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Wasting time on the Internet (why, look, I'm doing it now!). Finding stuff for cheap. Spouting out obscure entertainment-related trivia. Winning contests. And sighing. I excel at sighing and furrowing my brow.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Brown eyes; curly hair.

Pariah is the best lesbian film ever made. Hands down. Netflix it now. I'll wait.

Jack & Diane is a good dyke film as well.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My parents, though they frequently drive me insane
My home, because I like shelter from the cold winters
Writing, because I might go insane without it
Independent film, because I dislike Julia Roberts
Books, because I don't want to live in a world like Fahrenheit 451
And my NEW ipod touch, because I can check my email anywhere and I have a little email problem (aiming for a clear inbox by 2012!)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
My worries. How I'll ever get to England, though I fear flying. Which actresses might be closeted. If The Talking Heads will ever get back together. What new movies to add to my 700+ Netflix queue. What new cupcake places to try. If I was a gay man in a former life, and if so, did I frequent Fire Island. Why I find Paul Rudd and Craig Ferguson highly attractive even though I am very very lesbionic. Why there hasn't been a famous witty gay man since Paul Lynde. Why I didn't hit on Jane Lynch that one time I was in an elevator with her. Why my belly button is an innie. Why diners stopped serving cherry lime rickeys. What obscure disco/house songs I can add to my iPod. If Lady Gaga was truly born that way. Why NYC is a bunch of boring chain stores. When and where I will eat pizza again, and how good that will make me feel. Why I can't stop watching Real Housewives of New York. Why John Waters hasn't made a decent film since Hairspray. Why Woody Allen hasn't made a decent film since Crimes and Misdemeanors. Why Woody Allen is still with Soon-Yi. Why The Marriage Ref got renewed for another season. Why gay marriage can't be legal in all of America's states.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
at home, writing or relaxing. Or sometimes, at a singles event, which, trust me, if you haven't been, is like a fate worse than death.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I write erotica. This, however, does not mean I will sleep with you on the first date. Of course, it doesn't mean I won't either. Ha, now I've got you interested. Or completely turned off. Whatever. It's the Internet. I can't see you so I don't really care, now do I? Well, maybe I do. Cause I'm shallow that way.
