I am considerate, smart, and empathic.

My Self-Summary

Hi! My name is Quentin... Unique, eh? I'm totally named after a ghost/werewolf/zombie etc. from the old sci fi soap opera called "Dark Shadows". My family is a little off. :-)

Alright, so i'm going to do my best to fill this out. I have a BS in psychology and an MA in clinical psychology which I got from York College and Michigan State.

I got burnt out and came back to NY because of a job offer, and now I'm in the process of taking over a small business... something that has absolutely nothing to do with my degrees. oops. Actually, I worked at this store before I even went off to college, so it's really kinda going back to my roots. What a change! I have a nice, small group of friends, but I guess it's pretty hard making new friends outside of the group I already have.

I love to travel. A couple years ago I went on a safari in Kenya. I even got a quick tour of Amsterdam during the layover! A few years earlier I visited Greece and Turkey. More recently I've been to Mexico, Egypt, and Jordan. Next Stop? maybe Australia, China, or Russia?

I also like to write, and have had a bunch of fantasy novels in my head that im hoping to get out before my mind completely fails me... I've been lacking inspiration lately, tho.

I like going to the movies, dinnering, random drives, baseball and softball (watching the former, playing the later) minature golf, the occassional video game, love to travel, deep conversation and lots of other stuff.

Anyway, That's me.

What I’m doing with my life

Well, I mentioned this in my summary - but right now i'm starting to take over this business. It's not as rewarding a job as I would hope for, but it works for now. What that basically means is I spend most of the day playing online, chatting online, and keeping up on half a dozen or so webcomics.

Eventually i'd like to write some books (i like fantasy genre stuff - no, not that kinda fantasy, sicko!), and maybe even finish my PhD and work part time as either a general clinician or relationship counseling. I have learned the only thing that is guaranteed is that things change so i try not to be too specific with where i'm going!

I’m really good at

listening, navigating manhattan, planning trips, other stuff too, i'm sure.

The first things people usually notice about me

It depends on the person.. What do you think?

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

a) well, my favorite author is Terry Brooks. I like alot of fantasy / adventure sort of stuff.

b) I can't really have a favorite for movies.. there are so many different genres, after all! Anyway, I do like fantasy movies, like the Lord of the Rings Movies, Princess Bride, Labyrinth, and so on. I also appreciate some romantic comedies like Love Actually. Also various mindless Comic Book Action movies. I have a fondness for pretty awful sci-fi special movies as well. Mansquito, anyone? ha. Really, there are few genres I dislike despite horror. Don't really care for it.

As far as TV goes, I love (and really, really relate to) Scrubs. I also try to keep up with the Daily Show and The Office (the new, US version), and more recently Big Bang Theory. I also am a big fan of Doctor Who, and have been since I was a wee lad. I still watch Heroes, and I also watch Lost. I liked Firefly, but I only watched it after it was already gone. So yeah, cheese sitcoms and scifi stuff.

c) music is tough because i'm one of the few people that is not particularly passionate about music. I listen to just about everything - it makes me adaptable to whatever my friends tastes' are. Recently i've been on an 80s hits kick tho.

d) all sorts of things! pistachios, broccoli, pickles, I like trying new types of cuisine whenever I can... which is odd because there is a lot of stuff I don't eat.

The six things I could never do without

This is a hard question to answer. I think besides the need-to-physically-live stuff, there are a lot of things that are very important, and without them I would never feel complete.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

What I have and what i've lost. And why. And what to do.

I think, I worry. Hey. I was a psychology major. It's what I do.

On a typical Friday night I am

Depends on the week. Either Getting ready for work on Saturday or in Manhattan.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I always try to avoid killing insects and spiders when I can. It's not that i'm THAT empathic towards the plight of the common bug, but more that if they ever decided to revolt against humankind, they'd at least know I wasn't a jerk towards them just because I was bigger.

..oh yeah, and you know Hiro from Heroes? How he would scrunch his nose in deep concentration hoping for some sort of superpower or to happen in the first episode? I've done that too. PS: it didnt work.

You should message me if

You want to talk. My job usually entails sitting at a desk and playing online. That means I need penpals and chatbuddies to talk to! So, if ya got any interest, i'd love to have random conversation with you !
