My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Things about me...I'm assertive and open mostly, quiet and reserved occasionally. I tend to be a perfectionist almost to the point of ridiculousness. Live within a general modest state of mind. I'm severely color blind, both physically and culturally(non-bigoted). I don't wear my emotions on my sleeve, have compassion towards many yet don't have a bleeding heart. I'm not an apologist but do know how & when to. I don't mix words or say what I don't mean. I'm patriotic and deeply love America, for a lot of reasons. Work out on a regular basis, was a powerlifter for a while. Have incredibly sharp memory and recall skills. Very family orientated. Recognize that patience is a valuable and productive virtue. That ideologically speaking, I hold very few in-differences. You can gain a fair assessment of my character minus the "life experience"section, by viewing my "personality" profile above.

The daily double hypothetical...(They say that I might live in the past...I say that they should know where they stand, why they stand there, and while in the process of their deliberations, should try not to get to far ahead of themselves.)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working as a longshoreman, formerly I was a manager and operator of a bakery. I'm an active member of several educationally orientated associations and institutions...vice-president, secretary and annual show chair for one in particular. I write and research extensively about local histories, 19th century American alternative, patent & proprietary medicine. I'm currently in the different stages of writing three seperate books. I also have plenty of other interests.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Understanding, interpreting, and reasoning; at least I think so. Communication, digging up information...writing and researching generally. Imploring honesty and sticking with my principles. Appreciating what I have, when I have it. Listening. Knowing when to open or shut my mouth.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I'm genuine, deliberate, generally easygoing but also serious. Sometimes reserved, but mostly open. Intellectual & complex, sometimes have a goofy/corny side that can make incredibly bad puns. Have no problem speaking my mind or addressing issues in public when desired or justified.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Reference material, I enjoy non-fiction material in general and write and research quite a bit. Philosophy, particularly Nietzsche and Gestalt(that of Wertheimer), some Freud. Enjoy reading and studying complex material such as theoretical physics and brain function(non-pseudoscience). I'm also quite the history buff, particularly state and local.

Fiction... Steinbeck, Tolstoy, Melville, Emerson, Harte, Hemingway, George Orwell, H.G.Wells. My favorite poet is probably Robert Frost; A favorite fiction book... The biography of a tree, by James P. Jackson.

I'd say that I'm very comfortably about a 95% student of the late Dr. Milton Friedman, whereas comparatively speaking, Bernanke and Greenspan would both currently be sitting somewhere below the 50 percentile, even though they would absolutely love you to believe otherwise...If you have no idea what that means, no matter.

Music is wide and completely varied, almost all types, even some classical and opera.
Artists....Dylan, Hendrix, Young, Joplin, Canned Heat, Cream, Doors, Three Dog Night, some Stones, some Floyd, Steppenwolf, some Beatles, Animals, The Guess Who, early Chicago, The Platters, John Fahey, Doc Watson, Norman Blake, John Lee Hooker, Tommy Dorsey & Count Basie bands, Tony Bennett, Sinatra, Cab Calloway, Nat King Cole, B.B.King, & Ray Charles(a lot).
I like big-band, instrumental and bluegrass, not big on standard country or rap altogether...
Contemporary music... mostly grunge era, Bush, S.T.P., Chains, Candlebox, Dishwalla, Tonic, Our Lady Peace, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Temple of the Dog, Collective Soul, Smashing Pumpkins, etc...
Favorite of this time-frame... Soundgarden.
I used to be big on the local scene, Super 400, The Clay People, Ernie Williams(RIP),etc...they were all awesome when I saw them live back in the day.
Newer tastes...Audio-slave, Stabbing-westward, Drowning Pool, some Creed, some Incubus, Flyleaf...
My favorite band of all-time is probably Creedence Clearwater Revival.

Movies...1984, Animal farm, Of mice and men, The grapes of wrath(the original), 2001 Space Odyssey, Blade-runner, War of the worlds(the H.G.Wells original), The Wizard of Oz(the original), The fugitive, Star-trek generations, The good, the bad, and the ugly, Once Upon a time in the west, Citizen Kane, My fair lady, Gone with the wind, The subject was roses(Albertson,Sheen), Iron-weed, Empire of the sun, The jerk, Blues brothers, Planes trains and automobiles, etc.

Comedy tastes... W.C.Fields, The Stooges, Jackie Mason, Rodney Dangerfield, Red Foxx, Richard Pryor, Chris Farley, some George Garland, many others.

Food... Just about anything except for pork; I'm somewhat health conscience when it comes to what I eat. I've planted my own garden every year since I was ten and personally prepare most of the food I eat...I'm a pretty good cook, or so I've been told. Lately I've been dabbling with some homebrew ideas & recipes.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Family and friends, freedom, cognitive ability, good health, spirituality, expression.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
My life, future, building a successful career, entrepreneurship, monetary and personal investments, and my most significant contribution in life to.... my family, country, society, and people.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Enjoying a few quality beers, usually as the "requested cook"at one of my buddies places. I'm usually creating some sort of culinary dish, chef salad or tending to the grill.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Even though I might come across as mostly serious, which I'll admit to and certainly beats the alternative, I do have a tendency to be a big goof ball, because I'm genuinely a kid at heart.
