Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
"The time has come," the Walrus said,
"To talk of many things"
So, after a lengthy sabbatical from higher education I’ve decided
to revisit the academic community here in Boulder and pursue a few
of these latent ambitions. In a past life, snowboarding was my
biggest passion. Under the pretext of going to school (for the
first time), I moved to Steamboat Springs almost a decade ago and
eventually graduated with two different degrees. Such a high
achiever! The following years were a whirlwind of mountain town
shenanigans and I wouldn't trade them for the world. I dabbled in
most all outdoor activities known to man (and woman), poured my
heart and soul into my work, and met tons of awesome, lifelong
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Pursuing a career
... I may be a bit of an idealist, I think.
Working doubles (make money, spend money)
^^ the free beer helps with that.
Forging positive social relationships (the foundation)
Finding time for myself (necessary)
So, pretty much everything, all the time. Caffeine helps.
What's not to love about living in this wonderful place though?
Endless opportunity, intelligent, happy people, and uh...
sunshiiiiine, yea... that. Whatever. I think I like it here.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
(and subsequently) focusing
Power Pad Track and Field
Not taking myself too seriously. Which matters, to me.
I’m also an expert at taking naps.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My rugged good looks and... just playing! More often than not, my
modesty, probably. Also, optimism. I'm decidedly introverted (in a
decidedly non-socially awkward sort of way), so I may have a
certain intensity about me until we get to know each other, but
it's all a front―I swear.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Edward Abbey, The Giver, The Fountainhead, and Harry Potter
(obviously). Pretty much anything on mountaineering, or
river-running, or any non-fiction adventure story. Catcher in the
Rye, Bright Lights--Big City. Textbooks, or anything that I can
finish and get back to the library without $12.00 in late
fees—those are the best. It's a safe bet that at any given time
I'll have 3 books going―one of which I may eventually finish.
Shows: Cirque du Soleil
Music: Paul Simon
Food: What’s in the fridge? I strive to eat healthy: whole grains,
lean meat, green leafy vegetables and the like... and I usually
achieve this, but I also have no qualms about smashing a pack of
hotdogs and drinking cold beer all day in the sun. Balance is key
here, plus the doctor says I have a high metabolism.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Toilet paper (single-ply)
Gym shorts (for gym and for lounging)
To-do list (that never gets finished)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Laying low after a crazy week and rapping it up with the roommates
(as in conversing, although I am particularly talented as a street
poet as well, but let's save that for the second... or fifth date).
Possibly strolling down Pearl and grabbing a few drinks, as well as
a gyro from those gyro guys, obviously. Could also be on the school
grind. I'm lame like that sometimes. Or camping underneath the
stars, or rain, or a roof (whatever), and embarking upon grandiose
adventures come sunrise. More often than not though, I'm probably
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I dislike being told “how to be successful” in dating and in life.
