I am creative, thoughtful, and free spirited.

My Self-Summary

The short version's here. As time permits I'll fill out the rest of these essays.

I'm intelligent, fairly well read and young at heart. I like a good prowl around a museum, sailing, drum circles, Ren Fairs and a host of other things. Spirituality and creativity are two of my main interests, especially the convergence of the two. I love the arts. Recently I've been exploring this convergence in the textile arts as well as in the rhythmic harmony of alchemical fire circles. (Visit FireTribeHawaii.org for more info.)

In counterpoint to this I'm from a scientific family and seem to be hardwired for science. I'm intrigued with how things work, even human minds.

I'm looking to find friends (and a long term relationship in particular) who are intelligent, open minded and free spirited as well as spiritual to do things with. Any special relationship would develop from there. Email me if you'd like to know more.

What I’m doing with my life

In this wonderful economy I am attempting to make something out of nothing. Although my hours have been cut at one of my part time jobs I have 2 others so I'm juggling them a bit. I teach sewing and quilting at JoAnn Fabrics and I'm working on developing a line of patterns as a side business. I also do custom framing in an art gallery. I don't have enough hours in the day.

I’m really good at

Friendship, math, psychology, quilting and sewing (even couture, my Nana taught me as a child), fire tending and ritual construction. Like the beat the list goes on. I have a lot of low tech but useful skills.

The first things people usually notice about me

my smile, my intelligence

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I like science fiction and historical fiction if they're well done. I also like non-fiction on archeology, anthropology, sociology and a variety of scientific topics.

I don't watch a lot of movies until they get to TV although I watch kid's stuff w/ my granddaughter. I love Madagascar and Shrek. Otherwise science fiction tops the bill again. I particularly like movies w/ a psychological element.

My musical tastes are broad, from Baroque to world beat. There's very little I don't like but I favor anything w/ a good beat and nice harmonies. I sang in the church choir for decades.

I prefer simple food. My Dr. took me off of dairy so I'm in mourning over lasagne. I make it w/ about 6 kinds of cheese. Otherwise any meat on a grill w/ raw fruits and veggies on the side. It's a caveman diet but it keeps me healthy. I'm still kicking the sugar habit.

The six things I could never do without

intellectual stimulation, art, rhythm (drums and rattles), my kids and grandkids, chocolate and sunshine

I spend a lot of time thinking about

the nature of reality, new artistic endeavors, creating a better world

On a typical Friday night I am

at work

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

is still private for now

You should message me if

You're looking for a long term relationship and think we have a lot in common. Message me if you think we'd be good friends or business partners.

I'm not always great about responding but I'm making an effort to be better at timely replies.
