"Many people need desperately to receive this message: 'I feel and think much as you do, care about many of the things you care about, although most people do not care about them. You are not alone.'"
Hello there! My name is Alex. I appreciate complex, quirky and genuine individuals. I'm drawn to those who view life with wonder and awe and actively try to embrace each and every moment. Those who recognize that there is indeed a Mystery, and seek it in a variety of scientific, artistic, internal and external ways. I don't waste my time and energy by being around hateful and negative people. I like being around people with a similar value system as mine (constant improvement and personal growth, do what thou wilt, love, empathy and intuition) - Anyone who is striving to be a good person and are discovering/fulfilling their purpose.
I seek out novelty and new experiences. I'm finding I am happiest when I do not get trapped into pattern and habit. Fear and limits are imaginary, albeit crippling. I'm focusing on overcoming these things and embracing my true nature and potential. I travel when I can, and I love it. Delving into new cultures is so important for boundary dissolution. I've traveled to Costa Rica a few times this summer and I will live in the Peruvian rain forest for a few months this coming Spring. Hopefully I can do some traveling around the US in the next few months- I am becoming rather jaded with the Midwest.
I try very hard to put myself first - no matter what. I've had to break a lot of toxic habits, friendships and beliefs, but I am so much happier for it. You can't help anyone else if you aren't helping yourself. It's important that any future relationships, platonic or otherwise, are on the same page as I am.
I think that in every experience and person is an important lesson. I hope that through this site, you and I can share many of those lessons.
I just moved to Indy but I spend most of my time in Avon and Brownsburg. I would love to make some city friends :3. I also spend a lot of time visiting friends in Bloomington. I also try to visit my father in St. Louis on a (at least) monthly basis. I am hoping to meet some cool people in the area.
I enjoy: hiking. driving (silently and singing along to great jams). savoring food. comfortable silence. people watching. (late night) conversing. philosophizing. looking at the sky. trip sitting. meditation. running. kettlebells. traveling. hugging. kissing. board games. journaling. mind expanding and manifesting. savoring food. conscious eating. dancing. yoga (when I get around to it :/). reading. select movies and television shows. camping. festivals. open minds and hearts. connecting. the occasional vidyah game. sharing. letting go. music. vinyl. puns. microbrews. flowers. spas. smiling at strangers. teaching children things i wish i learned when i was their age. creating. introspection. language. animals. cooking. learning. picnics. surfing. peeling sunburns...
I have a cat named Rotini and he's my bestie.
