My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Here's a little flavor of me: I'm introspective, uncommonly empathic, and not jaded! Highly creative and intellectually curious. On Myers-Briggs, I'm INTP (Introverted, Intuitive, Thinking, Perceiving), which is a type common to a number of scientists, as well as some artists and writers. Although more introverted, I do have a latent theatrical, funny, extroverted side that can come out, depending on mood and whom I'm with (and maybe how much I've had to drink).

I'd like to get to know people as friends initially, and if the chemistry feels right, my goal is to develop a long-term, mutually nurturing, passionate, interdependent, monogamous relationship. The word interdependent is key.

I believe there is someone for everyone, and each of us has, in fact, several potential mates out there who could be "good enough", meaning: not perfect, but you'd be significantly happier with this person in your life than without.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Evolving....psychologically and spiritually
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Here's just a small list :)
Arriving at alternative hypotheses, combining ideas in original ways, making people feel really comfortable, asking good questions, being an astute and insightful listener, not being quick to stereotype others

Music: my favorite subject! I am a very musical person and come from a musical family ...used to sing vocal jazz as a hobby in the past. Love almost ALL types of music, stuff with strings. Top 40, not so much. Starbucks, for some reason, generally plays stuff I like...Thought Amy Winehouse was enormously talented...such a tragedy....Also enjoy many movie soundtracks; here's a few: An Education, Sexy Beast, Pulp Fiction, Space Odyssey 2001, Children of a Lesser God, Wide Sargasso Sea, The Big Easy, The Descendents

Favorite Poem (One of 'em): The Day Lady Died, Frank O'Hara

Opera: La Boheme (My first real opera and I had no idea the emotional reaction that would ensue...)

Tend to like plays better than Broadway musicals---a few favorites: Death of a Salesman, A View from the Bridge, Streetcar Named Desire, Glass Menagerie, Hedda Gabler, Doubt

Favorite musicals: West Side Story, South Pacific, Porgy and Bess, A Chorus Line

Movies: Merchant Ivory type period pieces, indie film, foreign films, and psychological dramas over Holly Wood blockbusters and action films. Though they can be fun too. Also, my all-time favorite: What the Bleep Do We Know (I like TED talks too)

Television: don't own a t.v. so watch very little, but when I do I've enjoyed Treme, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Chopped, PBS, and Turner Classic Movies

Books: love psycho-spiritual content. My last great read: "From Plagues to Miracles, The Transformational Journey of Exodus, From the Slavery of Ego to the Promised Land of Spirit" by Robert Rosenthal, MD (Transpersonal Psychiatrist).

Food: dining out a huge passion! Italian and Mexican (esp. El Parador & Crema), Tapas, Raw Bars/seafood, French bistros, Creative American, Steakhouses, Greek, Turkish, Southeast Asian, Korean, Sushi, Fusions, Dim-sum, Gelato, Fine cheeses....we know how y'all guys love a woman who loves her food. :)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Music
Goals/Aspirations
Reason and Intuition
Love
Creativity
Cutting edge information
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
thinking less and feeling more
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Often enjoying a nice meal out, then relaxing before bed...go to work on Saturdays. Off Sundays and Mondays. Perhaps you will ensure that my Fridays are anything but typical....
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I didn't learn how to tie my shoes until my late teens or even early 20's. Must've missed out on that phase of my development....

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
-You are ultimately interested in a long-term relationship rooted in friendship and mutual attraction

-You'd rather be "weird" than "normal"---or neither--just yourself!

You are not addicted to online dating

You have no interest in "open" relationships

You are confident and cerebral, but not arrogant

Your profile is just long enough to be meaningful or entertaining without becoming an exercise in narcissism

You are capable of asking me out in a reasonably planful way--not at the last minute

Note: A huge plus if you are both scientific and spiritual! (OKC likes to dichotomize, but they are not mutually exclusive)

Some Notes About Our Initial Communications:
I don't like IM, so I don't respond to it. I do, however, think it's important to have a phone conversation soon into things, so we can better assess if there's chemistry. Of course, that is really best determined when we meet. But a phone conversation reveals 500% more information than texting ever could...

Please also note that I do like a bit of message trading for maybe just a few days before we speak by phone. Don't be discouraged if you message me and I don't answer until sometime the next day. My intention with messaging is not to approximate any kind of "real time" conversation, and frankly, I find doing this by texting or emailing awkward, anyway---might as well have an actual phone convo, right? So my aim in messaging is just to get that initial sense of whether I'd I like to learn more...And of course, if all goes well with the phone conversation, I would be game for meeting in real life! Yes, you heard that right!

Cheers,
Suki
