My self-summary
I'm an American-born educator who just moved to Beijjng in August. Prior to coming to China, I lived in Western New York (closer to Canada than NYC) and Boston. I work in an international school and I really enjoy my job. I'm trying to learn Chinese as fast as possible, since everyone here already assumes I can speak it...but it is SO hard. My interests include exploring new cuisines, exercise, and travel. I'm hoping to meet new people who would like to help me explore this new, exciting city.
What I’m doing with my life
Helping middle schoolers solve their problems...yikes.
I’m really good at
Making omeletes, picking out thoughtful presents, sorting laundry, lifting heavy objects, psychoanalysis, wearing sunglasses, and grammar.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm pretty broad for an Asian boy.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I read a lot of cooking and travel books. I have no imagination.

Music: I'm really into outdated hipster music. I still listen to a lot of vampire weekend and the strokes. I also love Kate Nash and Voxtrot. Currently, my favorite band is The xx.

TV Shows: Parks and Recreation, New Girl, and The Office are my weekly must-sees. I've also gotten into The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad as of late.

Food: I basically eat anything. I'm proud to say that I've deboned, marinated, and cooked an entire pig head (sous vide) once in my life. I like eating small birds on sticks and mystery meat. I don't really get food poisoning. Seafood is my favorite and I'm a sucker for ultra fresh sushi and New England steamers and lobster. And bacon, obviously.
The six things I could never do without
My stainless steel French Press, tortoise shell Wayfarers, my friends, warm summer nights, sharp cutlery, and good whiskey.
On a typical Friday night I am
Either falling asleep early or staying out late.
