I am shopping for men, on the internet, and breathing.

My Self-Summary

I'm into Buddhism and eastern spirituality so this whole "self" question is kinda tricky. What do I most want you to know about me? I have a big heart and a sharp mind, and can be both incredibly serious and incredibly silly. I really value balance, authenticity, and humor. I question everything, pretty much, and am a subtle revolutionary. I care a lot about the world and inner/outer peace, love to be outside amongst the trees, and love connecting with people who don't take themselves too seriously, but seriously enough! I'm looking for laughter and fun, and I tend to be drawn to people who are warm, kind, self-aware, funny, smart, and engaging. I'm an east coast/west coast, east bay/west bay, east/west kind of gal. I appreciate people who bring out the silly side of me, and love being surprised by people.

What I’m doing with my life

When I'm not caught up in all my thoughts about "my life," I'm working as a therapist, practicing NVC (Nonviolent Communication), going to satsangs, yoga, hiking, reading...And when I'm lucky I'm hanging out and laughing with friends.

I’m really good at

Listening, sleeping, spotting typos, loving, writing haikus, doing the running man and the roger rabbit. I'm working on juggling, but haven't mastered it, yet.

The first things people usually notice about me

you tell me.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Right now I'm reading The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle and I love it and want to read it a billion times. I love reading "spiritual" books, as well as David Sedaris, Anne Lamott, Ann Patchett, and others. So many favorite movies, but a few that come to mind right now are Trouble the Water (a documentary about the impact of Hurricane Katrina on one neighborhood in New Orleans), Office Space, Beaches (got me through a rough patch in college), The Visitor (so good!). I love lots of different music, but my can't-live-withouts include: James Taylor, Ani DiFranco, and Indigo Girls. My favorite food is gourmet vegetarian--I love Greens restaurant.

The six things I could never do without

Given we could all do without almost everything but the basics, I'll go with things I would prefer to never do without, and they are, in no particular order:
1) Questions that invite me to make lists
2) Hot showers, baths, hot springs (i love hot water)
3) Redwoods (seriously, is there anything more incredible?)
4) My best friend
5) Airplanes, so I can travel, especially to NY to see many of my most loved ones
6) the dharma (teachings of the Buddha)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

What really matters most to me?
How am I creating a sense of separateness?
How can we shrink the US so the east coast isn't so far away from the west coast?

On a typical Friday night I am

totally depends on the friday night. hopefully having fun!

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm kind of addicted to Facebook.

You should message me if

you want to!
