My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm on here to meet people! No expectations when it comes to messages or information or what-have-you. I've been told that I'm 'outgoing'. I mean, I like going out and doing things!

I regularly check YVR deals and I'm always planning a trip to some far off location. I am comfortable with thinking about the darker parts of life, and I find that doing this makes me more grateful for what I have. I strive to live simply (less possessions and more coffee) but I also like wearing a crisp suit to an event every once and a while. It bothers me when people do not walk to the very back of the bus to make room for new passengers.

I am a curious person, and I spend a great deal of time reading about culture, political science, and history. I'm hungry for new experiences, but I try not to plan what these experiences can be, as fixating on an experience can often leave one feeling 'let down' or 'unsatisfied'. I love hip hop, movies, reading fiction, and dancing to Bruce Springsteen.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I stay fit and exercise at the gym regularly. I find great peace in developing wood work projects, and I built most of the furniture in my apartment. This past summer, I rode my motorcycle to California by myself, camping along the Oregon coast. This was an incredible experience. I love to camp, relax in hot springs, read all sorts of books, and eat donuts around Vancouver.

Currently doing my Masters in Public Health. I'm mostly interested how research in health sciences works, and how we can go about doing research in a better way. I've worked in the social work field, including teaching sexual health in high schools (some funny stories there), working at a mental health residence facility (some wild stories there), and working for a mobile needle exchange (some sweet stories there).
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Building furniture out of wood. Making coffee. Talking about public health and well-being. Riding bikes. I've started drawing recently but I am not a great artist 😝. Reading books!
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My tattoos or my shoulders, I reckon.

I l-o-v-e comic books. I'm always looking for great comic/graphic novel suggestions ☺️.

Books: fiction, non-fiction, philosophy, political science. My favorite book is probably Moby Dick, but Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy is pulling a close second. I love David Foster Wallace, Murakami, Alice Munroe, Philip Roth, and many others. I read a lot of Michel Foucault for my school work. Also, I'm very big into reading Japanese comics, lately.

Shows: Mad Men is my favorite of all time, and I think exploring the present through a period lens can be revealing. Master of None, Louie, Girls, and The Wire all portray people in their contradictory complexity. Recently, Show Me A Hero really moved me.

My music tastes are very eclectic. Lately, I've been listening to the new Grimes album, this excellent post-punk band Protomartyr, and Vince Staples' Summertime '06 is on heavy rotation.

I love all foods but I'd die without spicy noodles. Dead, I tell you.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
(1) Sriracha (soooooo typical)
(2) Music (both playing and listening to)
(3) A dog-eared book
(4) Exercise, in- and outdoors
(5) My bicycle (this is my transport and fits well with #4)
(6) My close friends
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The places that I'd like to travel to or my next wood working project. How I can best express my gratitude daily.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Either curled up on the couch deep in a book or out there trying to find some new art, music, or food.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I regularly eat a large pack of twizzlers to myself at the movies.
