I am laid-back, witty, and down-to-earth.

My Self-Summary

I consider myself to be a pretty nice guy. I'm loyal to a fault and will do whatever I can for those I care about. My family is everything. I can be nerdy or rednecky, and occasionally at the same. I'm sarcastic and snarky, but only in good fun. Unless you deserve it.

Randomly: I like concerts, museums, the outdoors/camping, sports live and on TV (especially hockey, football and baseball), video games, travelling, fast cars and a good barbecue. I love the city and the country equally. I'm a huge Red Wings, Lions, Tigers and Wolverines fan.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm just living life my way. Trying to enjoy it as much as I can, make the best of things, and not taking myself too seriously. I work full-time as a product engineer with a sheet metal fabricating company. If you've seen Office Space, it's kinda like that sometimes. I keep hoping the layoff train will pass me by, and so far so good because I've worked at the same place since 2002. I am pursuing my bachelors degree in industrial engineering at Wayne State, which should be complete in May of 2010 if all goes to plan.

I’m really good at

My job, playing guitar, fixing cars because I'm too cheap to pay a mechanic, making campfires, working on computers, puns and other word-based humor. I'm always told I'm a good listener. I give decent massages, and I'm proficient at receiving them as well. I make killer Kraft macaroni and cheese.

I'm also pretty good at useless trivia games. Think Trivial Pursuit, Buzztime Trivia, etc. It saddens me that my brain is consumed by so much senseless information, but it's won me a few things so I guess it's alright.

The first things people usually notice about me

That I'm fairly quiet and/or reserved until I get to know people. I'm not the center of attention or the one who talks the most, but once I'm comfortable in a group or with my friends I'm part of the crowd like anyone else.

Also my magical color-shifting eyes. They change daily.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I don't read as much as I used to, trying to work on that. I've been known to enjoy Slaughterhouse V, The Hobbit, anything written by Stephen King, Edgar Allen Poe or Michael Crichton, and most sci-fi.

Favorite movies include Idiocracy, Boondock Saints, The Crow, Super Troopers, Eternal Sunshine, Braveheart, Star Trek/Wars, Black Hawk Down, Lord Of The Rings, Tombstone, Zoolander and any zombie or James Bond flick.

My musical tastes are pretty wide ranging, but I'm a metalhead at heart. A limited playlist would include Lacuna Coil, Metallica, Alice In Chains, Trivium, Demon Hunter, Flyleaf, Theater Of Tragedy, Disturbed, Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Nine Inch Nails, Rob Zombie, Powerman 5000, Taproot... if it's loud and heavy I'm all over it. Non-angry music I like: Jimmy Eat World, Dropkick Murphys, Johnny Cash, Boston, Ted Nugent, BNL, Shinedown, I could go all day.

I certainly love food, and my over-active metabolism allows me to eat a lot of it. Some of my typical orders would be buffalo wings, burgers, steak, pasta, thai, chinese or a good coney.

The six things I could never do without

1) My friends and family who help make life worth the hassle
2) A guitar to thrash some heavy riffage on
3) Beer. I'm a beer snob, I love trying new ones and enjoying favorites
4) An internet-enabled cell phone
5) Physical affection and intimacy
6) Cellular respiration. Science rules

I spend a lot of time thinking about

- The economy and how it might affect my ability to work.
- What I'm going to do once I have my degree.
- Why many women would rather date tools and douchebags with no future than decent guys with good jobs who treat women right.
- My zombie day survival plan.
- Starting a rock band. Not the Playstation 3 kind either.

On a typical Friday night I am

Hanging out, throwing a few back, playing darts or shooting pool, watching whatever game is on tv (especially the Red Wings or Tigers). If not that, likely relaxing at home watching a movie or something to that effect.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I took Russian in high school because I watched too much Hunt For Red October growing up. Да, я говорю на русски язык немного. Это хороший язык!

You should message me if

...you like what you've read and wouldn't mind interesting, entertaining and possibly silly conversations about most anything. See where it goes from there.

Bonus points if you: are tactile and affectionate; spell and use grammar (proper English is sexy); like metal or rock or other loud musics; can turn a man on with your mind as well as your body; think of yourself as (even a little) dorky; love bacon; know your way around a campsite.

Non-bonus points: kids (sorry, I'm not there at this point); drugs; drama factories; no education or at least not working towards one; under 21; militant vegetarianism (it annoying as hell and you won't convince me).
