I teach at a public school in a tough, urban section of LA. I've proven myself in my career. I have good friends. I use mid-grade gas. I have a few items from Restoration Hardware. I know what malolactic fermentation is. And I STILL get more pimples than wrinkles!

I'm savvy, but completely down-to-earth. I'm well-educated and I love stimulating conversations. I love people-watching and everyone's fair game. Yeah, that's right mullet-family with the Disney sweatshirts --I'm talking to you. Hoist up those fanny packs! Be proud! Hahahaha!!

I am sort of old school, in that, I like old things - music, fashion, movies, novelty stuff. But, more like slowing down and really spending time with people...face to face, turning off our smartphones and finding out if the people around us are still smart...and interesting and full of love to share in this crazy, fast-paced world.

I'm funny. Everyone tells me I should do stand-up, but I feel like I'm funnier when I can bounce off fellow funny folk. (Gotta love alliteration...) I'm very observant. I love words and the groove that writers get into. I'm very smart, but I sure don't know everything. Ask me anything and I'll ask you back tenfold. I'm curious. I'm passionate. I want transcendence. That's what falling in love is....

I'm looking for someone who gets me and wants to be with me for the long haul. I'm looking for something real.

I've been married, i've done a lot of soul-searching and learned from my past. I'm looking to take that knowledge and apply it to a new, exciting relationship. something to be said for this whole...journey....thing we're on here, folks.

Walking my photogenic dogs, making people laugh, sitting in traffic, frittering time away on the internet, tap dancing, wondering, wandering around Target and Pier 1 and Z Gallerie, saving the world's squirrels from my chihuahua mix, Mr. Flops.

Ok...I'll just name some of my favorite things here:

Twinkly, white lights...like on back patios of great restaurants that smell like wood-burning ovens.

Sushi that melts like butter on your tongue. The way you never thought sushi could be comfort food, for god's sake.

Seeing you in a suit. Yeah, I'm biting my hand like Squiggy. lol

Long drives in beautiful places. Wine tasting and wide-open vineyards and the awesome beauty that only California can provide. The way Northern California smells. Green, woody, oceanic, fresh, COLD!

A live show...a late dinner...a marvelous bottle of wine...and making out like teenagers in the car.

Outdoor concerts in the summer, feeling the bass drum pound in your chest, beer is flowing, the sun is setting, the air is dry and breezy.

Not sure why people list the essential "survival" things here, Capt. Obvious.
- down pillows and comforters
- my loving, amazing dogs
- music, singing, the way it moves the soul
- ice water
- human interaction/stimulation/conversation
- humor

my purpose in life, what causes traffic, how to be a better teacher, where common sense has gone, writing a comedy routine, saving all the world's animals, how the world goes on while we sleep, how to improve my life, why I don't sing more often, language and the butchering of it...so many things....

I was obsessed with The Monkees in high school. No...I'm not lying about my age...remember their 20th anniversary comeback in 1986? Yeah, my braces and I were drooling over Davy Jones.
