I am silly, determined, and a bit crazy.

My Self-Summary

I ride a motorcycle. A LOT. Like any time there isn't snow or ice on the ground. It's just what I love to do. And the gas is cheaper, but that's not the point. I ride seriously, practicing often and taking advanced classes every other year or so.

I'm not a huge partier, but I do like spending time with a group of friends, just hanging out and shooting the breeze. Caffeinate me and I'll get pretty silly. I'm a cheap date that way: no alcohol necessary.

I'm fond of doing the unexpected because it makes people smile. Try it some time: walk down one of the trails in town while juggling; or walk the whole trail backwards. Best example ever: spend a whole day with spoons on either side of your head and if anyone says anything, tell them the spoons are antlers and you're a moose. Kids get that, adults try not to laugh because that would be rude. Recently I spent time at work wandering around with envelopes stuck to my glasses on either side of my head; I was a rabbit.

I've recently learned to cook. I'm pretty sure I've got the hang of homemade noodles, but hash browns still hate me. One of these days, oh browned potato shreds I WILL win! I make a decent chili and a darned good corned beef and cabbage. I've also mastered some casseroles. Now that I have a house and a grill, grilling is very frequent.

Occasionally I breathe, but it's my opinion that breathing is overrated, so I'm trying to cut back. (Of course that's a joke what kind of twit has to ask me that?)

That bar on your homepage that tells you how complete your profile is? Yeah, I'm learning to strongly dislike that bar. 41 more characters indeed! After months of working on this site, it still says I'm under 95% complete. It's becoming my theory that no one ever finishes. :P (After I added this, I had someone start seriously challenging me to get to 100%. I'm still working on it.)

Why isn't there a section about what we AREN'T good at? I never learned to dance. I've resisted learning all my life because of my morbid fear of looking like a jackass in front of people. It's okay if I look like an ass when I'm being silly, but I hate to look stupid if I'm actually trying to be serious. I've yet to find anyone that wanted me to dance though, so it's not been an issue.

I'm enjoying the heck out of lawn care with my house. First time in my adult life that I've had a lawn of my very own that I can do with as I please. Now all I have to do is figure out what it is that I want to do with it. It's all shaded, and mostly clay, so "lawn" may be a misnomer.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm going to school. I intended to finish up with two associates degrees and a certificate in project management.

The house I got is much older (built in the 1920s) so I've decided to do quite a bit of restoration where possible and modernization where necessary. Most of the work I'm doing myself or with friends helping.

I’m really good at

Skills? This should definitely clinch the geek reputation.

I can: ride a motorcycle (and I do it ALL the time), juggle, make chain mail, do decent amature photography, do moderate vehicle repair, fix a computer, write a darned good paper, be supportive and encouraging, quote annoyingly from various shows and movies, and use my turn signals when driving (if you think that's not a skill worth mentioning, you haven't driven in the KC area lately).

Sundries: I've been told I'm a good kisser, but that's highly subjective.

The first things people usually notice about me

At 6 feet, most people just notice that I'm tall. I've also gotten comments on my eyes. Once I got a comment about my butt, but she was drunk so does that really count? Ooo! I apparently look good in a kilt too. I just found that one out recently. :)

No, that's not in the right order and OF COURSE I left out some things. I have to look like a gentleman. ;)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Lately, I've been actively trying to be more "zen" about things. I find that when I can manage this trick, the answer comes to me without me having to dwell on it.

Here's honestly what's been on my mind lately: "here's a llama, there's a llama, and another little llama, fuzzy llama, funny llama, llama llama duck" If you pay attention, llamas are everywhere, I just saw llamas in "The Shadow". :P

On a typical Friday night I am

Hmmm...generally pay bills, buy groceries and watch a movie. Told you I was quiet. You should have believed me. :P

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

This one time at band camp...no wait, that was a movie.

I'm Batm....no, that was another movie.

I've never learned to actually dance, but sometimes I'll "dance" while sitting at a stoplight on my bike. Yeah, if you saw that, it was me.

You should message me if

You think that life is WAY too linear and could do with some random weirdness disquised as an attractive geek dude.

OR

If you can help me understand how to reconcile Quantum Mechanics with Superstring Theory. Wait, I already mentioned the geekiness so physics questions are just redundant. Sorry.
