My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I like coffee and glitter, dancing, reading and traveling.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am teaching and studying, learning and hitch-hiking.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
languages, meeting new people.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am always smiling.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

My musical taste ranges from Battles, Foals, Local Natives, Warpaint, Electrelane, Owen Pallet, Chapelier Fou, Dirty Trees, Patti Smith, Neil Young, Lucy Rose, Daughter, Sharon Van Etten, PJ Harvey, Sleater-Kinney, Divine Fits, Wolf Parade, Moonface (yes, I am a big fan of Spencer Krug), Spoon, Metronomy, Cansei de Ser Sexy, MEN, Le Tigre, Gang Gang Dance, Wild Flag, POND, Black Lips, Black Flag, Fugazi, The Clash, the Sex Pistols, YACHT, Why?, A Tribe Called Quest, IAM (French rap collective), Cut Copy, Mount Kimbie, Baths, Nicolas Jaar, Darkside, James Blake, TEEBS, Flying Lotus, Dusty Kid, LCD Sound System, Carte Blanche, Toro y Moi, Gold Panda, Caribou, Sigur Rós, Caspian, Explosions in the Sky, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, A Silver Mount Zion, Boards of Canada... to Spanish flamenco.

It is hard to remember all the movies I have liked, but here is a short list of those I want all my friend to see (most just fall asleep watching them but I try to be forgiving): The Truth (La Vérité), The Devil Probably (Le Diable Probablement), La Collectionneuse, The Child (l'Enfant), The Return, The Decalogue, Fight Club, American Graffiti, Carrie, Lolita, A Clockwork Orange, Planet Terror, Death Proof, XXY, La Mala Educación, Y Tú Mamá También...

As for reading, it is something I would like to do more often for my own pleasure but that remains purely academic at the moment. I would feel guilty and treacherous if I opened anything non theatre- or British identity-related before my thesis is finished. However, and just like I like her music, I have to say I love Patti Smith's poetry and frankness (have you read her autobiography?! If not, you should!). I also like Sylvia Plath, Alan Ginsberg, Nabokov, Edgar A. Poe, H.P. Lovecraft, Jacques Roubaud, Pessoa, Barthes, Salinger, Camus, Maupassant, Sartre, Tchekov, Gombrowicz...

Suggestions are welcome ;)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Planes, good people, good gigs, good books, good coffee, pretty dresses.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
university and my next trip overseas.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I can be partying, having drinks at the beach, watching movies with friends, studying or doing some lesson planning. Sometimes all of the above.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Sometimes I lie for no apparent reason. It just comes out of my mouth and then it is too late to say 'hum, no I am sorry - I was never born in this place, I have no idea why I said that!'.
