My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
.work in progress.
(self and profile)

I like curious. I like rebel. If you're neither, we are likely not going to get along long.

If you under 30, please understand, we will only ever be friends. I'm totally open to friendship. :)

American living in NZ for 7 years.

I've some idealistic notion that you are going to find me.

Curiouser and curiouser... and then curiouser some more.

Admittedly, I am embarrassingly geeky, and generally attracted to the like. Regarding previous sentence: no, I'm not really embarrassed. ;)

I am a myriad of contradictions, complexities and passions.

Very abstract. I also find myself entirely non-linear. Innately rebellious.

Endlessly fascinated.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
avoiding filling out these essays for the time being
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I am working to perfect my skills regarding certain passions: photography, writing, learning, and tech in general.

Words. I love language(s), communication and storytelling in any form. I find story comes quite naturally to me.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
-I'm short... I like to call it petite, but that doesn't change the reality :) I'm 5'2" ... (that is American measure)... I tend to date very tall men, over 6', and I love heels.
-I've got a funny US accent (I think I'm the only person that keeps forgetting this)

My goodness, just as I was great at procrastinating I arrive here, and feel so inclined to just start writing for ages (and I could, and I will at some point). I'll just summarize -- I'm hopeless at this, so don't expect much:

Reading Rendezvous with Rama again, as now. So good! :)
Okay; done w/ above and a few PKD on, and have now read all PKD. Reading Clarke -- recommendations of hard sci-fi most welcome!

A few notable books/authors I have enjoyed:
-Catch 22, Dune, Ender's Game, Brave New World, Do Androids Dream..., 1984, The Shining, the Stand, And Then There Were None (this kind of thing)
-H.P. Lovecraft, Vonnegut, Huxley, Clarke, Philip K. Dick, Stephen King, Michael Crichton, Agatha Christie, Neal Stephenson
- The Giving Tree, Good Omens, Women Who Run With the Wolves, Joseph Campbell, Gabriel Garcia Marquez

TV Series:
LOST, True Blood, Game of Thrones, Vikings, Six Feet Under, Star Trek, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, House of Cards, Firefly, Mad Men, The Wire

Generally speaking I prefer really high quality Sci-Fi, post apocalyptic stuff, intense psychological thrillers, fantasy, foreign cinema and intense dramas. I do enjoy comedy and animation as well. Overall, I love, love, love film...

Some favorites would be:
Grave of the Fireflies, Matrix, Shining, Pan's Labyrinth, Twelve Monkeys, Labyrinth, Die Hard, Moon, The Game, The Godfather, Requiem for a Dream, Bladerunner, Treasure of the Sierra Madre, Neverending Story, Schindler's List, LOTR, Fight Club, The Hours, La Vie En Rose, The Usual Suspects, Life is Beautiful, Blue is the Warmest Color, 21 Grams, Sunset Blvd, 2001 Space Odyssey, Alien(s), Terminator, Memento, The Usual Suspects, Groundhog Day, Casino, Inception, Shutter Island, Dr Zhivago, Gone with the Wind, A Fish Called Wanda...
Planet Earth, Blue Planet, 7Up (all so far)

Stones, Joy Division, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Ray LaMontagne, Joan Baez, Neil Young, Crosby Stills Nash (and Young), Simon and Garfunkel, Bob Dylan, Nina Simone, Gordon Lightfoot, GNR, NIN, Radiohead, Bon Iver, Billy Joel, Fleetwood Mac, Damien Rice, Johnny Cash, Depeche Mode, Pink Floyd, Phish, Bowie, Tom Petty, The Cure, The Cars, Bob Seger, Lana Del Rey, Bon Iver, Cat Power, Al Bowlly,Hendrix, Nick Drake... The aforementioned are just what's on my playlist. I like a lot of music. I especially like music that tells a story or takes me back to a meaningful place in my past
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
It is all relative.
That said -- apart from the obvious necessities that sustain life -- I would not want to be without my: child, family, friends, health, hope, passion, curiosity, residence in a country during peacetime, and emotional and intellectual intelligence.

I'm also quite fond of 24/7 access to strong internet, and all my iGadgets.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The future. The potential futures of: science, space, medicine, earth, technology, learning, and the various known species of earth (including our own).

I often find myself quite passionate about (in)Justice, (in)equality, freedom and the lack thereof.

Fostering gratitude for the many things in life I might take for granted.

Obviously, like all humans, I am stuck inside my own head. Thus, I spend a lot of time thinking about how to attain clarity and insight into the various aspects of self. I then try to consistently evolve to become a more balanced, and high-functioning version of myself in this reality.

Other people's realities.

How very relative it all is.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
At home on Reddit. :p
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
D/s - me 's' -- only in the bedroom. ;)
I have no interest in casual sex. Please don't inquire.
