I am humorous, sensitive, and bearded.

My Self-Summary

I'm not a typical guy. I don't really care for professional sports or have much interest in cars. I'm more into conversations about beliefs, hopes, desires, crocheting. Yeah, I crochet. I knit, too. I dig NPR and BBC. Movies and books are a passion of mine. I'll watch almost any movie, but I'm picky about my books.

OH! And last October I bought a '77 Winnebego. I still have a little work until she'll pass inspection, but I love her!

So here's the deal: I'm a feminist*. I'm 100% comfortable with my sexuality but refuse to bow to gender stereotypes. I like cooking, I knit, I crochet, I used to be a florist, but I'll also cut the grass, clean the gutters, and replace the brakes on my car (that was fun!). In short, I don't believe there are any chores/jobs that are gender specific. Can't we all just get along? :-)

*="Feminism is the radical notion that women are people." ~Cheris Kramarae and Paula Treichler

What I’m doing with my life

After years of putting it off, I went back to school to get a BA in Drama. I spent 6 years as an actor in children's theatres across the country, outdoor drama in New Mexico, dinner theatre in Wisconsin and a show or two in Alaska. My life has been a blast; I ain't gonna lie.

I just got my Advanced Open Water SCUBA certification! ...but I don't have money to dive :-(

I’m really good at

--Trivial Pursuit
--losing at Scrabble
--knowing U2 lyrics :-D
--making you smile
--making you laugh
--making conversation and coffee last as long as someone needs
--speaking in class at that awkward moment when no one wants to add to the discussion

The six things I could never do without

1. BOOKS: if I was stranded on an island without any books, I'd probably lose my mind a lot faster than if I had even one.

2. my iPod or some other music device.

3. if I say coffee, does that make me an addict?

4.

5. if I say my MacBook, does that make me an addict?

6. dogs

I spend a lot of time thinking about

"Why do I keep repeating the same mistakes?"
"Why can't I figure out how to crochet in the round?"
"Would I be able to learn Esperanto?"
"What ever happened to baby Jane?"

On a typical Friday night I am

trying to figure out what to do on a Friday night.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

is that I live a conflicted life. My tattoo represents the romantic notion of finding your soul-mate and becoming one person together but in reality I don't believe in soul-mates.

Stolen from iheartbugs2 because it sums me up PERFECTLY:
I get crushes at the drop of a hat. Sometimes (often) on people I don't really know. But once I have the crush its there until it fades, and I flirt like a demon at every opportunity. I don't, however, do much to actually get to know those people. I almost prefer the crush. The people I date tend to be people I connect with in a more realistic way, you know, through drinking.

You should message me if

you think it's okay for guys to wear skirts. I mean, historically, guys have worn skirt-like clothing a LOT longer than women have worn pants. I'm just saying.
